while in Egypt, it seemed a normal thing to get simple gold wedding bands . . . they have bags full of these things that they pull out when you go to the jeweller . . . already sized up, lol, and ready to engrave with your names. These are basic bands. . . . no diamonds anywhere.

After all that, I find out my husband prefers silver, laughing.gif laughing.gif . So maybe I should get him a silver ring with a skull on it? laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

That is what Usama told me. I asked what we will do about rings and he said we'll just go to the store and get them and have them engraved. I was kinda shocked like it was no big deal but I guess it's a common thing. I could care less what I wear. I just want something to remind me of him though. smile.gif

Do you know if the sizes there are the same as sizes here? He said he could get it done ahead of time if he knew my size but I don't even know my size since I"ve lost weight and I wasn't sure if it would be the same or not.

They had a ring sizer there and just slipped on a ring that i was wearing to get the size . . . then they found one of the same size.

Why don't you draw around another ring you have and send it to him?? do you have a scanner, lol?? you will be there so soon that I hesitate to recommend doing the "string around the finger" and mailing it to him, hehe. tongue.gif

Yeah no kidding I sent a letter to him over 3 weeks ago. The post office guaranteed delivery between 3 to 5 days which sounded odd to me since it was just a normal letter with a stamp on it that they gave me. Still haven't seen it or heard about it. Before then I sent a red sox pen via fedex and that got lost. I give up on mail over there which scares me since we'll be mailing forms and such when I get back. sad.gif

I fedex'd forms a couple of times and those made it within 3-4 days, but it costs an arm-and-a-leg. Take what you can with you to fill out now where you need him to give info/fill-in/sign. Anything you can do and take now will probably save time later.

WHEN forms were sent back via the Global Mail Service from Egypt, it took about 2 weeks when they promised 4-5 days, LOL. Airmail from Cairo can take two weeks and regular mail can take TWO months. I am still waiting on my EID gift which I suspect might have gone astray, but could show up within the next few weeks . . . probably flattened into unrecognizability laughing.gif laughing.gif . . . and no, it wasn't food . . . just something that might be too fragile for the typical handling of any postal service. sad.gif

I guess I'll have to go get some unscented ones. I'd rather my hair not small like dryer sheets! laughing.gif

Thanks, noura!

What?? you don't like that wonderful smell of the "outdoors" or whatever scent they are using??

Personally, I try to get all unscented products when available! I really don't like lotions and hair gel/spray that have scent . . . because I like to put on my own perfume. Sometimes you end up walking around a mass of warring scents!!! tongue.gif

Noura?????????????????????

You are supposed to be posting here . . . not in those other threads that shall be nameless!!

Get with the program, woman!! tongue.gif

Jenn, use hand lotion, rub it into your hands and then run your hands thru your hair. This will eliminate static flyaway. This works on pantyhose too if your pants or skirts stick to them.

Well, it looks like I probably won't be having to go to Ohio after all, LOL!! They wanted someone for the whole month and I was going out on vacation starting from the 20th of the month. My manager was trying to get them to use my technical skills for 2 weeks but today she said it was not worth the effort . . . so it looks like I am benched now but I have training goals to attempt to reach PLUS updating me resume and other various administrative tasks that always fall by the wayside when a consultant is actually busy with projects.

laughing.gif laughing.gif One of my co-workers that got assigned to this project before I rolled-off my last one is now upset because she says she doesn't have anyone to go shopping with her in Ohio laughing.gif laughing.gif I think I prefer to put up my Christmas decorations and clean the house . . . not that there is anything wrong with Ohio . . . just that I'd rather not be flying there every week if I can avoid it . . . and risking being snowed in and the resultant travel delays. Last time I was flying to PA during the winter, I saw more snow in one week than I think I've ever seen in my life.

Well, That's all for me . . . and I am staying out of those other "day" threads . . . getting dangerous in there!

Happy to hear you managed to avoid Ohio cbd. smile.gif I'd rather stay home myself, though I can't say I'm itching to clean house. happy.gif

My son and I just finished playing Battleship and then Spongebob Uno. I always beat him at Battleship but he always whoops my patootie at Uno. Oh well, it's fun. Last night we played Uno and instead of holding the cards in our hand, I had the idea to put them all face up on the table. It actually made for an interesting few games and I guess we'll continue to play like that every once in a while.

I got some papers back in the mail that I had mailed to the US Department of State. I'm such a dork!! When I saw the signature of the person who signed it I was like, look look, it's the Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice!!! biggrin.gif Of course, my son has no idea who that is, and I can't tell if the assistant signed her name or if it was really her. Anyways, I guess that was my exciting news today. All my paperwork is done for before the trip and I'm just chomping at the bit to go. Still over 4 weeks and I already want to pack. laughing.gif Oh well... patience.....
