Look at your Regional USCIS Office:

Detroit is looking at cases dated April 14

Yes the petition gets sent to the service center in Nebraska, but the Regional office does the interview, and depending on how back logged the regionl office is sets the processing time for the case, same goes for AOS cases. That is why they have the Regional offices listed for processing times.

Not sure about Detroit, but through Nebraskas SC here in Denver, I submitted it in Oct and my interview is set for early Jan. So not long here for the interview at least if that helps with a time frame...

Thanks everyone for the help and links. I appreciate it alot...

Meauxna, do you know about how long after you take the test/interview do they call you for the oath...I mean is it within a few weeks, months or is it years? Thanks again!!!!! good.gif

Warlord: Love your quote!!!! good.gif
riblet
Sometimes the oath ceremony is the same day as the interview, sometimes it is a month or two after the interview. It depends on how busy the office where you interview is.

Like riblet says, it varies---a LOT.
I got wind that same-day oath was possible in my office so I had fingers crossed and made some inquires so we could have the same day. We had out of town guests coming and a trip planned for right after the interview etc etc.
However, there are some folks who have waited a long time.. months.. before their oath ceremony. Many are eager for the same reason I imagine you are. smile.gif

I'm lucky too that my DO is just over the river from my house. It's no problem for me to drop in and ask them questions. I did that to make sure DAH's namechecks were clear and to find out the criteria for a same day ceremony.

We do the big ceremony here on Cinco de Mayo. I didn't want to wait that long, either. smile.gif

(heheh... best 'foreigner' question the DAH ever asked me: "When's Cinco de Mayo?". I guess it's only funny if you speak Spanish....lol)

And if you're case is like mine based on marriage, but your interview is still set a full week and a bit before your actual 3 year PR status, then they'll probably hold off on the same day oath and set it up for sometime at a later date. So if I pass, I'll maybe expect it to be in spring or possibly summer of 2007 for the ceremony depending as mentioned how many others need to be processed before me...
Henia
Hello

No my case is not based on marriage...I came to the US by myself and gained my LPR status...but I am married and would like to have my husband come here. The going back and forth is killing me wacko.gif
