I just got home from Egypt and we are starting our paperwork but we discovered that the translation of his mother's name in his birth cert. does not match the name in the marriage cert.! THe stupid ppl at the marrieage office had a typo ...the issue is that it left out her fathers name but included her grandfathers ...IS THIS A ISSUE OR WHAT should we go back and ask them to redo everything in all those offices? We also have the embassy approbval seal attached so how would i get anohter when I am now iin USA? Is this gonna be an issue or what ? PLEASE HELP--she has a id card with her full name to prove it is his mother but they just forgot to add her dads name and added te granpas name...is this happened with anyone else through egypt? IT seems liek they can't get anything right !

Oh geez, sorry hon!

I have no idea but I'm sure someone will help. How was Egypt? Where did you stay?

When my husband and I got married, when he was finishing up the paperwork my husband discovered a problem with his fathers name. That is when we discovered that his fathers name was wrong on the birth certificate as well.

The immigration is sticklers, if you don't change it and it does become an issue later on I can assure you that it will make for a longer delay than if you had just done it correct the first time.

Sorry, but I wouldn't take the chance.

Sorry, I have no idea whether this would be a problem as we didn't have that happen. Maybe someone else will reply that went thru the same thing.

I think it is better to be safe and get it re-done now than get into a long delay later.

Really, that kinda sucks because it takes awhile to get all of that done in the first place . .. but easier while you are in Egypt than once you are back. helpsmilie.gif
