I filed I-130 & I-129F petitions for my husband, and designated on each form that the American consular post will be Istanbul.

But I recently heard that Istanbul is no longer processing immigration visas, that immigrant visas are being handled only in Ankara. Does that mean non-immigrant visas are still processed in Istanbul?

If my husband comes on a K-3 non-immigrant visa, will he be going to Istanbul or Ankara?

I am a little confused.

Thanks,
Dayna

Ks are processed by the IV Unit, and Ankara has been the sole IV post for several years now.
Ankara it is.
And yes, they'll send it to the correct place regardless of what you wrote. smile.gif

Yeah....they do make it confusing when they say that the consulate in Istanbul only does "non-immigrant" visas......and then when you file a k-3, which is called just that , then you find out they don't process them there.

I have been to the consulate in Istanbul several times.......Meauxna is correct........the k-3 will only go to Ankara. Not Istanbul.

I am not sure about that error of yours, designating Istanbul as your "consular post" ...whether it would create a problem or not. But Meauxna a lot more informed about those types of issues than I am.....so I would have confidence that what was written regarding it, is a fact,..........and that you should be okay.

Good luck.
