That's hilarious!!!! I just spoke with my inlaws who live in Washington State, and they were complaining about the RAIN..... move to Edmonton and enjoy free snow shoveling and car crashes due to a lovely -32C!!!!!! Then you can complain tongue.gif
girl 37
No matter what I say, I can't convince my inlaws here in TN (outside of those that attended our very rainy wedding last December wink.gif ) that it isn't usually very cold in Vancouver. They give me the "yeah riiiiight" look, every time.
Canuck Carrie
We were over at the in-laws last night and it was 50f. They were all shivering and whimpering and I was outside in just a tee-shirt fixing their Christmas lights.

Hubby was so excited as we had small white things blowing around today, he said "look at the snow!", I had to keep asking where as it wasn't up to my ankles. Silly Texans wink.gif
ceriserose
I'm pretty sure my in-laws are choked right now...they're in Texas to escape the eastern Washington winters. wink.gif
Ecalos
LOL I like that thing!

Everyone thinks Canadians live in Igloos.

We have beautiful weather in Nova Scotia good.gif

another weather giggle for me today is the 'winter weather' warnings we are having here - it's going to go down to -3c! <gasp!!>

Chilly here in the DC area, high was over +20C! Bring on the cool weather please!!
Reba
the weather forecast here in western NC is supposed to get cold. Might go all the way down to 50F even!

A lady at work yesterday (temps...as bad as substitute teachers wacko.gif ) tried to convince me the other day its always cold in Canada. She doesn't even know where it is for crimeney.

We spent Christmas last year with my husband's family just outside of Houston, Texas. They actually did get some snow falling Christmas Eve as the temperature hovered around freezing - in fact, my husband and his nephew got into a 'snowflake' fight scraping off the little bits that did stick to the top of the car roofs(VBG).

I put up the Christmas decorations outside today - hard to imagine working up a sweat stringing pine wreaths and lights but I did - it was 72 degrees. It is supposed to plummet tomorrow as a cold front goes through - down to the high 20s overnight, but right now the windows are still open and we don't expect to turn on the furnace for another few weeks. Do I miss the snow? NAAAAAHHH! Hehehehe

I am a temp. Have you ever been a temp? offtopic45vn.gif

Off-Topic2.gif

My physics teacher told us that absolute zero was a theory. He said that he didn't want to be around when someone was actually able to achieve absolute zero as that would mean that the electrons would stop spinning around the nucleus---part of what the definition of "Matter" is. He postulated that the lab might contain a petri dish of anti-matter and since that had only been described in fiction---he didn't want to live it. He didn't think that absolute zero was -273ºC either. He said that that was just "really cold."

Hardly matters, I suppose: I really don't crave a trip around the back side of Pluto to check out just what temperature nothing is. Calgary is only sort of cold and then sort of mild and sort of cold again. I have learned to bundle up if I am going to be on any of the avenues because the wind just howls down 'em. The streets are generally sheltered. Where I hope to be going next year sometime is only going to get down to the same winter temps as I grew up with in southern ON.

That temperature post is very funny! biggrin.gif

We're sitting here in Saskatoon laughing at British Columbians who are freaking with a few inches of snow. We've had 2 feet in the last week and while it's pretty, at night, when the wind is down and the stars are out....it's HORRIBLE shovelling it!!! The banks on the side of the driveway are already 5 feet tall! Where are we supposed to put it now??

haha My last Saskatchewan winter...*sigh*

My parents are in Saskatoon and enjoy the snow!! I prefer it cold. One can always put on more clothes when its cold, can takes off only soo much when its hot!!

It was a funny post. However, we have usually mild winters here and no one seems to mind when it gets cold except for me. No one can believe I'm actually from Canada. Even in the summer I'll wear sweaters to work. I'm sorry anything under 70 degrees and I'll be feezing. Then again, I also hike in the desert in the summers with my jeans and black shirt in temps above 100 and I'm fine (my friends and wife really do believe I'm not from this planet ha ha)...

I dress up in summer and down in winter. It all has to do with work conditions, in the summer you or at least I freeze because of the air conditioning and in winter with the heat turned up it gets to be too much. So if ever you’re in Ottawa and I'm still here wave to the nut in short sleeves having a smoke in temperature that freezes exposed skin in less than three minutes.

P.S. In warmer weather I smoke king size and in winter's colder temps I go back to the regular smokes

I agree Peggy! I so miss being in the Pubnicos. I miss NS...period!

My kids at school think Canada is all snowy all the time...lol...it's so funny to tell them that things aren't that different up there than they are here....except for a few food items. "You mean they have McDonald's up there too???" is one question my kids asked a lot at first. LOL....kids say the darnedest things, eh?

I am so glad my last Saskatchewan winter is behind me!! I am loving it here in Arizona!
MissStacey
I haven't decided which I dislike more, the cold and snow in Canada in winter, or the hot, sticky New Orleans summer.
