kicking.gif kicking.gif I am so very pleased to be able to write that my husband was issued an IR-1 visa today.

As some of you know my husband interview for a K-3 on October 26th and we were given the 221g and told the petition was being returned to USCIS due to the validity of our relationship, we fought that and kept the petition is Casa and got a new interview date for Nov 17th, we were approved at that interview pending security checks......during all of this time I had let out I-130 keep running, well in the last hour it made it to Casa, we were able to switch the visa's, and today my husband was issued with the IR-1 visa. We hope that he will be here by the end of next week. kicking.gif kicking.gif

Thank you to everyone on VJ who gave us help and support when we needed it the most rose.gif

Congratulations! I am so glad that you didn't need to join our club. I have been so curious though about how you turned around their decision. If you ever feel like telling I would love to know. Obviously its to late to help us, but others down the line.

Thank you, I pray that you will hear some good news soon too.

I don't know that we will ever know what it was that turned around the decision but this is what we did. I was in Casa with my husband, within minutes I tried to go to the embassy to talk to someone but they would not see me. Within the 1st hour of the interview, I had emailed my senators office and they sent inquiries, I emailed Casa, and Mr McKeever to ask them to give us another chance to "prove" our relationship. Within 12 to 24 hours some of our family and friends emailed and faxed letters of support for us to the embassy. Every day that I was in Casa I called the embassy to try to get to talk to someone, but no one would. I did get the chance to leave a message for Mr McKeever. Four days after our initial interview date my husband received a call to reshedule him for another interview on Nov 17th, this time we were approved. I think that we were so sucessful in turning it around because we reacted quickly, but we will never know the real reason why.

I hope that this might help someone.

Zena

From what I read I think I see 2 things. You had a representative that worked with you quickly, getting you a foot in the door per se. The second, and what I view the most important thing was the letters of support from your family. I never even thought about doing that until our NOIR. I do believe family support is powerful. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope knowing this will help at least one more person avoid this mess. At the time of our denial there was very few people that had this happen, and they weren't talking much. Its great to see that so many people are willing to talk about it and help guide those it is happening too.

I want to thank you again for the information! rose.gif heart.gif

I called McKeever this morning actually, after getting your email. Its 2 weeks later but nothing beats a failure but a try. I, like others, wish I had better knowledge on what to do from the very beginning. Nobdoy expects this to happen.

I hope your husband has a safe trip home!!!!!!!!!!! yes.gif

Thoughts and prayers with you, Limah -- I hope you can get this turned around in Casa, and I think there's a chance that you can. Do you have your congress reps and/or senators on-board yet ?

Visa4habibi!
Congratulations! That's wonderful news!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif
I still don't get how you did it but my case is a little different - we got the 221(g) in February and the interview for CR-1/IR-1 visa didn't do anything. I've been bugging Congress woman's and Senator's offices but one keeps telling me 'still checking' (whatever they are checking, i'd like to know). Another office gets me some replies from different NVC branches about the status which is not looking too good still.

I don't know what else to do and can't do much - still paying for my trips to Morocco. So, I guess, I'm stuck.
Oh, snap!!!

Hope you'll see your husband soon and he'll have a nice flight here!
