Hey ya all!


I am still debating if Consular processing or Adjusting status in the US is a better route. To me I would go got Consular processing as it will take about 3 months for the Embassy to conduct interview but they might put me in Administrative Processing ( I wonder if I am on AR can I stil ltravel back on the K-3).

On the the other hand Detroit is taking about 7-8 months to conduct AOS interviews! Any one can advice me on what route is better?

What stage are you up to with the petitions?

I am here in the US on K-3. My 130 is not approved but will be very very soon. Still not sure if I should go with consular processing or AOS?!

Ali you cannot travel back to the USA when you get AR/AP. If you could travel they would not put the case in
AR/AP and would issue the visa at the same time. I think if you go back to Pakistan you will need to be prepared to stay and wait out the AR/AP and you just finished 364 days before they issued the K3.

If you are concerned about AR, it seems to make sense to do AOS. At least that way you can be together. And 7-8 months doesn't really seem that bad - is there some reason for hurrying? You will be here, and able to work once you get an EAD.

You are better off doing AOS in USA rather than going back to Pakistan for your CR-1 interview.

And you may not have the choice that you think you have. Unless you're willing to pay USCIS another $200 to send the I-130 petition over to the DoS after it's approved.

Why haven't you applied for adjustment of status already? You could have been cutting into that 7-8 month wait time for an interview.

I love Pakistan and dont have a problem living there, unlike your husband I am no villager, I have many nice houses, cars and lots of family in Pakistan who love me and I would love to go visit them any time! And actually I am gonna go to Pakistan at end of January to see my family.

One you have been on VJ for long time and your I-130 is still not approved and your K3 was in AR and AP for 364 days. You came to the USA and have only been here for a few weeks and your were so worried over Judy's health that you were trying to expedite to come over. Now you sound like it is time to go back home for the CR1 that is still not approved.

I had told you if you came on the K3 your best chance was to AOS stateside and not to take the chance of going back and being hit with AR/AP for another year possibly? And a few others agree with this as well.

I think you do not need to attack each other and can swipe at each other in PMs. We are all trying to tell you the same thing look at what your saying and accept the advice of not going back to Paksitan and risk your time away from your wife again. Find a hobby, volunteer for no pay but be happy if your with Judy now and enjoy your long awaited reunion.

Mary there is a right way of saying things and a wrong way. What would you said was approrioriate and Shon started calling me a liar.

My wife was sick and since I have been the US and we are together, she is a lot better now. She actually wants to go back to the Pakistan with me if I decide to go do the CP route! She needs a break too! Too support our family she has been working 60 hours a week every week!

But I didnt think I needed to give explainations on VJ. I just asked a simple question.

I think it is great is Judy is going to go back to Pakistan with you to be your support. I always come and support and try to stay postive in my posting but I did tell you to expect a lengthy AR/AP again since it is possible. I would not wish that hell on even my enemy.

Enough on my lecture and lets hope that getting back on topic will be benefical for you and anyone else that may have this issue arise in the future.
