[font=Book Antiqua] i'm kinda new in this site... i cant seem to find a thread that could answer my question...i'm lost in the process we are doing in processing my K3 visa... i've recieved a pack from NVC indicating my case number and the payment required... i just wanna know where i am and i wanna ask if $380 is the price you pay... thank you very much... would really appreciate the response

Sounds like to me you are doing the CR1 process. That is the fees for the I-864 that is paid along with filing of the I-130.

Are you talking about CR-1 process? $380.00 is the IV Fee Bill for CR-1 process.

as far as i know... we have submitted the I-129F and the I-130... unfortunately i have no idea of any response from the visa center... my hubby first paid $70 and then i was sent this pack for the Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee Bill which indicates that we should be paying $380 for application processing fee and security charge.... that is all the information i have for you coz most of the paper work was brought by my hubby to the states with him.... thank you. helpsmilie.gif

It sounds like you have an approved I130 petition. The K3 is a nonimmigrant visa.

Once you pay the fee, the NVC will complete processing the petition and then forward it to your local consulate for an interview. If you are approved you will enter the U.S. as a Permanent Resident (possibly limited if you have been married for less than 2 years.) and will be issued a green card. Is your husband also confused about what is happening?

You won't have to leave your baby. You are married to a USC. You can register your child's birth at the nearest US consulate as a USC and obtain a US passport for the baby to return to the US with you.

You will have 6 months to activate the visa so don't stress about that. A baby born of at least one USC parent is entitled to US citizenship providing they meet the guidelines. You will need to do a 'Report of Birth Abroad'. See http://philippines.usembassy.gov/wwwha003.html

As has been said. The process you are referring to with the $380 IV Fee etc is connected with the I-130 (CR-1). What stage is the I-129F at?

ame
the last i heard is that my I-129F has been approved... what does that mean? biggrin.gif
riblet
That means that your K3 petition has been approved, it will now go to the NVC for 2-4 weeks and then be forwaded to the embassy.

The K3 is considered an inferior visa, as it is a non-immigrant visa, that was designed to bring the beneficiary to the U.S. faster. If the I130 arrives at the embassy after the K3 it will override the K3 and the embassy usually just cancels the K3.

Dear Ame,
When are you due?I'm on CR1 and I had my baby 5mos.ago and i didn't have problems registering her and getting a US passport. You will need to go to the USE website and follow the instructions. You will need a lot of proof like copy of your husbands passport to prove that he's here with you. Then photos together and emails and letters. You have to call Fedex and they will deliver the forms to you.If your husband is not around you will have to pay an extra for Affidavit. You can send pm to me if you want,i live here in Makati.
