Full Version: How to find out case number from NVC?

Hi all,

I was wondering and called NVC to find out if they've received approved I-129F and assign case number. I went through automated voice service. But there is any option beside transfering operator for USCIS case# MSCXXXXXXXXXX. Do anyone know how to trick them and find out the case number?

I just found this in the K3 Flowchart in the guides:

"Two weeks after you receive the NOA2 you can contact the NVC to see if they have received your approved I-129F. You can contact them at 603 334-0700. Their homepage is here. Welcome to the US Department of State! "

You might want to take a look at the flowchart to get an idea of the rest of the process too smile.gif

And I checked elsewhere online, it looks like there is no toll-free number.

An automated recorded message system can answer many of these inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week (603 334-0700). Operators are available to respond to more difficult inquiries from 7:30 AM to 12:30 AM (EST) Monday through Friday. Status of case information and access to an operator can only be provided by entering your NVC case number or CIS receipt number on a touch-tone telephone. Case inquiries can also be made via email at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. NVC only has information on petitions it has received.

Note: If you call them get a live operator, the automated system wont have info for K-1 or K-3 visa cases.

It can take 2-4 weeks after NOA2 to NVC

you can find out about the status of your case by calling the nvc phone number, wait to speak to a live operator, try calling between 7:30-8.00am in the morning or 1-2:30pm, or 6:30pm they are usually less busy during this times. They will ask you, what is the beneficiaries name, date of birth and petitioners phone number and the receipt notice date on the NOA2 RECEIVED FROM NBC. my case was approved on 11/14/06, and called yesterday they told me the case number, also when it would be sent to the foreign embassy. the turnaround time is usually a week for them to assign a case file. Make sure you have the NOA2(11/18/06) BEFORE CALLING, SINCE THEY WILL ASK YOU SOME INFORMATION STATED IN THE RECEIPT NOTICE. I HOPE THIS PIECE OF INFO HELPS
