My wife is planning on having a baby in a few weeks, and I want to be there for about 5 weeks, which exceeds the 21 days allowed with just a passport.

I have seen the form online that is required to extend my visit, but no instructions about where I will go with it.

Has anybody else done this? Please advise.

You can find a list of immigration offices at this link.

Back in April when I went to the office in Olongapo, I arrived at 8 am when they opened, there was no line, and I was in and out in 10 minutes. Make sure you have the 4000 peso fee with you when you go.

You can also get a 6 month visa at a Philippine consulate in the United States if you happen to live near one, but if you wife lives near one of the offices in the Philippines I believe that is easier.

I did the same in Cebu back in June when I stayed a month except the wait at the phil immigration office was a couple of hours.

Most Travel Agencies will do this for you for a fee of course. It is cheaper if you go to the local immigrations officer yourself. Good luck, Payato
