Hello!

Last year when i got my fiance visa i travelled to the US on EVA air economy class. I brought with me 2 square boxes (20X20X20) so that totalled to 120 in.

This year I will be going on vacation back to the Philipines and I plan to bring the 2 same size boxes again, but when I checked the website of Korean airlines which I will be using this time it said that the total dimensions for those travelling on economy class should be 107in. only. I checked the websites of PAL and EVA air and it seems to be the same for their economy class free baggage.

Does this mean that I cannot bring two square (20X20X20) balikbayan boxes anymore for free? I wasnt sure if i was interpreting the info. posted on the websites re:the dimensions.

Thanks! Would appreciate help.

Reduced luggage changes began at the beginning of 2006 I believe.

Oct 1st 2006: all international flights originate from/to the US will only allow 50lbs/piece x 2 per customer for FREE. They reduced the per piece's weight from 70lbs to 50lbs. Even more shittie if you have to fly international via domestic flight for connection flight, your carry-on is limited as well! Check with your individual airlines.

Northwest still allows 2 x 70lb bags for flights originating in the U.S. to the Philippines. The Philippines is specifically identified for the higher baggage limit. Northwest flights to other overseas locations do not have the same luxury.

Does anyone know about Korean airlines' policy on free baggage? On their website it says that for those travelling to Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong they allow 32kg per piece but nothing is said about the dimensions. I wanted to bring 2 (20X20X20) boxes and i wanted to make sure they still allow this for economy class passengers...
