Hi All,

i looked up and saw that I need to fill out the ar-11 and the i-865 forms for an address change, is that correct?

We are in the middle of filing the AOS and EAD, and i want to make sure that the place they are going to send him for the interview is close to where we will be. We just moved from Mobile Alabama to Galveston Texas and we are living in a hotel because our apartment is not ready until december 8. So should I change the address to the apartment in Galveston that we will be in on Dec8th? or leave it with the Alabama address (my parents house) until we actually move in on december 8th. People are living in the apartment until december 4th and i do not want them to get these very important peices of mail that we will be receiving from the USCIS, but at the same time I need to make sure that the appointment is in Texas.....

Sorry so jumbled but as always I am confused and probably making this more of an issue than I have too,

Thanks to anyone who can answer

Courtney

have you actually submitted your AOS applications already?

If not, just wait another week or so, and then send them in. Its unlikely that the office will receive your package and send you the interview notice the same week.

If you have already sent your AOS stuff and you need them to transfer your file, you should send your address changes ASAP. It'll take them a while to get on the ball and realize (if they ever do!) that they need to transfer them. Be prepared tho to have to go back to Mobile for the interview. They don't always transfer files.

yes we have already submitted them.. So I will go ahead and send the address change.. but I worry that if they send a notice within the next two -three weeks it will go to the new address and we wont be there...
do you think they can do an address change that fast?

just for your info, sending in those forms doesn't actually change your address... it just lets them know where you are ...

I would suggest calling the appropriate place to actually change your address....

check out this thread for more info... look for meauxna's posts
