Hello all,
I hope someone will be able to help me understand this situation. My mom got her greencard yesterday and went to the SSA office to get her SS card today. They told her they had to verify her status and that she should get her card in 4 weeks. I have been reading about SAVE and it seems like they should be able to get the info immediately. Do you guys think this means she wasnt found in the system and they need to do a manual inquiry?

Thanks!

Could be the case but bottom line, it really doesn't matter if she is getting her card in 4 weeks, right?

Well, yes and no, she has a job offer and they want the SS.. two weeks seems a much more reasonable time than 4 wks, especially if the manual verification can be longer than that..

2 weeks sounds much more reasonably, but 4 weeks is closer to reality. Hell it would probably eat up a week or more just mailing the G-845 to immigration and back to the SSA office.
