So anyone who went to the London Embassy, did you ACTUALLY get ALL your papers together before notifying the Embassy to get your interview?

My fiance sent off packet 3 and has pretty much everything together and is having his Medical Dec. 1 but is still waiting on a police certificate that said 40 days. (he just realized he needed a letter from the individual precinct where he was arrested apparently) Now if he has everything but that (which should arrive just before or after Christmas) would it be safe to call in for the interview date in London?

Thanks!

The London Embassy will automatically send you a date for interview with your packet 4, you don't get a choice of dates unfortunately.

When you sent your packet 3 forms back, did you tick the box to say that you already had the police certificate or not?

Ahhh...good question... I will have to ask my fiance...I know he has his police certificate and then has a certificate from the court in which he was processed, but apparently now you have to get a certificate from the precinct or something rather...of where you were brought in...I am not sure as I know he has his main certificate and has the certificate from the court....

I was prepared in advance by reading this website, it's been such a big help in getting things processed quickly.

I had already applied for my long birth certificate and police certificate months in advance. I also had my husband prepare 2 affadivts of support for both the CR1 and K3 visas and send them to me in advance. I told him to send both, so whichever route we decided to follow I would already have the documents with me in the UK, and could send the packet 3 back straight away without delay.

You should read the guides section if you haven't already done so, I found them to be very helpful.

I know, I was behind. I didn't realize that we would get his packet 3 so fast. I was in the UK until Oct. 28 and shortly thereafter he got his packet. Now, they told him to only send his forms in but not I-134 with it. So he sent in his forms but I am led to believe he is just taking the I-134 and stuff with him to the interview. I am trying to get them all done and sent off asap just so he has them.
I read this site and all the guides but it always seems to change from embassy to embassy apparently... I am never good with all this stuff unless i have it in my hand and am reading it. With Packet 3 of course I wasn't able to do that....

Oh sorry, I should have been a bit clearer.

You do take the I-134 with you to the interview, but in packet 3 it has a checklist of documents and asks you to tick off all the ones you have so they can go ahead and process your application and send you an interview date (packet 4).

Packet 3 includes a number of forms that you need to complete and send back straight away along with the checklist of documents (but not the actually documents, which you keep hold of until the interview). The checklist includes things like birth certification, police cert, passport photos, affadavit of support (I-134) etc etc.

That's why I wanted everything in advance, so that I could sign off the checklist and send it back with the forms more or less straight away.

I hope I'm making sense, I didn't understand it all myself at first! unsure.gif

I have just sent off my checklist and made sure I had all of my documents becuase I was reading on the USA embassy website that if you get your interview date before they have your medical results your visa will be denied and you will have to appeal.

lol my fiance did explain it to me more completely...
He sent in step 1...so the whole packet has NOT been completed....
