Ahmed and Debby
Hi everyone,

My K-3 petition for my husband was approved and I have received the letter stating that NVC has forwarded the petition to the embassy in Tunisia. In the letter there is a new case number. Do I use this new number to track our case now or do I continue to use the old receipt number? unsure.gif

Thanks so much!

YuAndDan
New case number is used when following up at NVC, and the Embassy or Consulate. The tracking on the USCIS is complete and wont have any more updates.

Thank you for your reply. So, is there any way to track the new number online?

Go to the US Embassy web page. Pick the couyntry you are coming from and they should have a section for appointments. If you look in that area after a couple of weeks it should list your appointment date

Ahmed and Debby,

No, not in any way that you are likely to be thinking. But I should not assume - what information about the case is it that you would like to learn online?

unsure.gif We are waiting for the embassy to receive the petition, so I am trying to find out how I will know when they receive it. Thank you.

To find out if it has been received at the embassy - contact the embassy directly. I'm sure someone in the Middle East and North Africa regional forum would be able to provide the contact information to you.

Not to the best of my knowledge, but maybe someone can correct me on that.
