You don't need to do another medical (I-693). What you do have to submit is proof of vaccinations. Hopefully you have a copy of the vaccination record (DS-3025) given to you at your medical in Egypt. Some people submit this form directly with their I-485. However, many people have received RFE's for not submitting the vaccination supplemental (I-693A) instead. In order to get the I-693A, you must visit a U.S. civil surgeon and have him transfer the information from your vaccination record to the I-693A.

My husband did not have the DS-3025 from his medical in Morocco. If you don't have it, you can try contacting the doctor who did your medical to see if you can get a copy.

I didn't get vaccinations record by then during my medical exmainations because I was k3 "was not necessary" ...and the doctor i have my medical exmainations with was in a hospital the Us embassy sent me into him so i really even don't remmber the doctor's name and he is a big name doctor he would never care to send me copy o fmy medical "this is if he had any" because I don't think they even have copy ...so what shall i do now if I don't have the form called Ds-2025?
now I know i will go to civil surgeon and get the vaccinations record done but what abour that form DS-2025???

Sorry, Salwa, I forgot you were K3, and not K1. I'm not sure if the process is the same. I know that K1's do not need to get new medicals.

When Mohamed had his exam they gave him vaccinations. Do different clinics vary on their procedures?

No kara ..But by then I didn't get the vaccinations the doctor said Iam K3 so It's not necessary and you will have to get it when you apply for AOS ..so I though do it when I go apply for AOS .
That's why..

Oh ok that makes sense. Thanks, Salwa smile.gif

Salwa,

Contact your local health department. They will do the vaccinations much cheaper than a doctor, and can give you the I693A. Then you can take that to the civil surgeon in your area and get it stamped. Ours did that for free, but some are charging. Either way it should probably be less expensive because private doctors tend to be much more expensive for immunizations than the health department.

Make sure you get advice from someone who has adjusted status from K3. I have a feeling that as a K3 you might need a new medical. Anyone?

I'll be in the same boat as Salwa soon . . . insha'allah . . . adjusting from a K-3 . . . and not having a copy of the medical examination.

I am looking at the I-485 form instructions right now: $325 for I-485 and $70 for biometrics.

Salwa, do you need to know where to get the latest form? I can give you the link.

Salwa, you can look up the civil surgeons in your area at this link:

You need to find one that is closest to you that is reasonable to work with. Some are sortof crazy while others can be very nice. If you have more than one close, call them all and see who will be easiest to work with.

You are not going to need a new medical if you are within the 12 months from your pre visa medical. you will need to get your vaccinations and the I693a supplementsince you havent had them done. Since you do not have a copy of your medical, I would think since you cant get a hold of it... put in the supplement once you have that done and a letter stating that your original medical is still current and should be with the documents that were given to the officers at your point of entry, medical was done at ... on the date.....
Im not sure if that will be enough but it is all you should need. On saying that it is the uscis and if they have lost your brown packet then I would presume that a new medical is going to happen... I just wouldnt want to waste the extra money for something that you dont need.

We are a K-1 and didn't have the medical either. We just had the appointment at the civil surgeons and went to the health department for the vaccines. We haven't had a RFE on it yet, so I guess it's ok. whistling.gif I agree with the others though and talk to someone that did a K-3. Kinda off topic, but will it be ok to get more vaccines while you are pregant? unsure.gif
