English. She tried to talk to him in Arabic, but he felt sorry for her because she was having such a hard time with it, he told her, Why are you giving yourself such a hard time. Why don't you just talk to me in English. Her response was, Oh really? She seemed to be relieved.

Mohammed's interviewing officer tried to conduct half of his interview in Arabic and he kept telling her he could do it in English. (lol) The last half she finally agreed and conducted it in English.

English.
Note - During the interview, Mahmoud asked her to speak a little more slowly and more clearly so that he could make sure he understood her correctly. She was gracious enough to do so.

Abdel didn't think he could do it in English, because he can read and write it very well, but hadn't had a lot of practice speaking and understanding it. He was prepared to ask for an interpreter, but he got a young guy who was very nice and he had no trouble understanding him so he did the interview in English. I think he did have to ask him to repeat a question or two so he could make sure he understood what was being asked.

I was interviewed in English ..I think when you speak the langague you use to commuincate with your spouse in the interview that gives stronger impression about the relatiosnhip.

Ditto. I told my then-fiancee to do the interview in English so they wouldn't question how we communicate.

Since Jamal's English was almost non-existent - we communicate in Spanish he asked for an interpreter and did the interview in Arabic.
