Hi,
My temporary EAD expires in a few weeks and my permanent EAD application (which was a renewal application) has been pending for almost 10 months (I think stuck in name check stuff). I heard that there is a law that says that if you have a pending application for renewal of EAD, then you can continue to work on an expired EAD. Does anyone know if this exists? ANd if so, where can I find a written version of this law?

No you must either stop working, or renew the EAD, it is recommended to renew between 3 to 6 months before expiration. To renew you file another I-765 and pay the same fee.

I would schedule an info-pass appointment to get a temporary EAD, they should take no more than 90 days to replace your card, if it takes longer then you have the right to request a temporary one or at least an explanation why it is 10 months.
