yes, this may be a problem... there's no way to know how long it will take in immigration. If you can change to a longer layover, that would be the safest bet. At least check to see if there are other flights you can catch if you miss your scheduled flight.
My friend Simo just flew in last week thru JFK from Casa and only had 2 1/2 hrs to get thru immigration. He *did* miss his flight, but was fortunately able to catch another one 2 hours later. I would try to have at least 3 or 4 hours to get thru immigration. Best of luck to you...

Last time I flew home from China I had a 3 hour layover in Chicago. Delays in Beijing, and the length of the lines at the US POE caused me to nearly miss my connecting flight, in fact I would have missed my connecting flight if it were not for a technical problem with the connecting flight causing it to stay in the gate for an extra 30 minutes, I was able to board the plane while they were fixing their problem.
So it is best to allow plenty of time between connections.

where is your point of entry...well if it is in NA could take anywhere from 5 to 2 hours... they love to just si tback drink their coffee and waste time...I would advice you to let them know your flight times ...

It can take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours. It depends. I have been through chicago many times and watched all of the immigants just fly through through the line. When Katya and I came through it just happened to be the day after the bomb arrests in Canada so the bomb dogs were at EVERY POE and all people and luggage were scanned, etc. So it took WAY longer then normal. We missed our flight. However...the airline will always get you a new flight.
My advice. If the ticket works for you then go for it and hope for the best. If you miss your connecting flight, well, then you just have the airline book you on the next flight. Not a big deal.

I don't think its enough time IMO, I would just be pro-active and take care of the change now to ensure you can still connect the same day. Even if you breeze through immigration, you don't what other flights will land at the same time and just how long it will take to get your bags and go through customs. You will also have to check your luggage in again. I'd say nothing less than 3 hours to be safe.

Totally. Stewart had less than two hours. It was rush hour at LAX - he made it...he had to run, but he made it.
Joel is right - the airline WILL rebook for you - so why not try to make it? If you don't, worse case, you re book

good luck
