Hello. My mom had tourist visa for 25 yrs and it expired two years ago, last year she applied and was denied. Now she wants to apply again because she wants to be at my wedding when i enter with a K1 next yr. I know she has to prove that she has strong ties here in my country that would make her come back, but, what kind of paperwork should she bring to the interview in order to prove that? shes a 56 yr old woman and is retired, my dad's tourist visa expired too but he applied again and it was granted. Thanks in advance for any help you provide. I didnt know where else to ask this question.

What about bills that she gets for the house, a letter from her bank maybe or some confirmation that she has a car etc.

She had a tourist visa for 25 years!!? If I knew that you could get a tourist visa that lasted that long I wouldn't have bothered going through all the K-1 stuff, the AOS, or becoming a citizen. I will probably be dead in 25 years - I could have saved a fortune!!! lol

Documents to prove she intends to return to her home country after the wedding could be things like her record of mortgage payment or title to her house, possibly a letter from her doctor or someone upstanding in the community may help.

I see the dilema - it is hard to prove those kind of ties, especially when you are retired. What about calling the embassy and asking for what kind of documents they actually require to prove this.

well... my mom pretty much just went trhough the same thing, she had had several tourist visas and this last one she was getting was to come visit me in the summer, and she got denied... so... she just went last week again and she got it... firts, she took everysingle piece of document that showed everything she and my dad owned at home, the apartment, the car, the company... etc etc...bank statements... a letter from her employer (my dad... haha, it is their company) saying how much she made, how long she has been workign there, etc etc... and then I also sent her a notarized copy of my green card and a notarized letter of invitation for them and one for the embassy that both Hal and I signed, so since you are still there, ask your fiancee to write an invitation for the wedding for your mom and then also one telling the embassy that you apreciate a tourist to be granted to your mom so she can be at your wedding ... etc etc... and notarize it... anyways... hope this helps... good luck!
