I just want some hugs for my family, guys, you are always such a good support system. So please send prayers our way, not for me but for my poor nephew and his wife. I grew up in the same house with him and he is like a little brother to me.
My niece (in law), Leann, is 20 weeks pregnant after losing the first one at 26 weeks last summer. (Her very first, after FIVE years thinking she couldnt get pregnant. Well, we all went in this morning to hear the babies heartbeat, and the baby is looking fine, but my niece has had previous cervical cancer surgery, and therefore her cervix is very weak. Well, when they started checking on HER, she was already open and dilated, which means problems. They did something called a surgiaplase??, you all probably know more about it than I. Anyhow, if you would all send your prayers, the poor thing. This would be the ONLy child in the family. Its just my bro who died when I was a kid, me and my sis that my Mom had, and then sis only had the one son after numerous miscarriages, and here I am almost 42, so it doesnt look possible for me. It would be so nice to have a small one in the family, and our family is getting smaller an smaller. And then, my poor nephew and his wife going thru all this again. The last time was really bad, becuz she didnt just miscarry, they actually thought the child would make it as a premie, he lived 4 days, then the brain scan showed massive hemorrhaging. So that was such a rollercoaster there, and not sure they can take all that again.
Thanks all

Jill,
I am so sorry. I will keep Leann and your family in my prayers. My brother and his wife went through this a few times, so I know how you feel. It's hard to keep the faith given the family history you have shared, but hold on. He is able!

Oh my what a day

I just got a call from Andre at work and the first words out of his mouth are “Promise not to get mad” well you know it can’t be good after that. Andre went driving alone

First thought is he got in an accident or a ticket but praise God he didn’t. He found 2 puppies in the middle of the road. He picked them up and saw a farmer out in a nearby field so he went over to ask if they were his. Well the farmer went on for quite a bit to Andre about how people don’t have any hearts these days and how wicked society is…people come out to this area and dump unwanted litters. How sad is that! Well Andre picked up 2 of them and brought them home. He called my mom first and she told him that she would send my sis (Becky) over to help him bring them to an animal shelter. But then I get the call from Andre…he relays the whole story and throughout the whole convo he is telling me how sweet, adorable, wonderful, cute and cuddly these puppies are. Finally he gets to the end of the convo and says that he is going to tell Becky that she can’t have them and wants to know if I am ok with that. We just have to keep them he says

Well I agreed that we would make a decision when I got home. So he was all excited to tell my sis that she can’t take them…that we might keep them. So I quick asked my boss (my landlord) if it would be ok to have dogs and he said yes…and my other boss overheard me and said that he has a kennel and dog house that he isn’t using…so we can have that!

Can you believe this?!?! So anyways I am headed home in a half hour…this is crazy! Andre and my sis brought them over to my mom’s house (she has dog food and stuff) and she says they look like German Sheperds

I will keep you guys posted!

just checking in to let you know I was still alive and kicking. I am feeling better in health. I am having a few issues with my youngest childs father....custody issues so if you could please keep my family in your prayers that would be greatly appreciated. On a birghter note I found my wedding dress at davids bridal and I also got my NEW ring. The princess cut diamond was only the engagement ring...now I have a wedding set

I will get pics uploaded as soon as time allows. I am still busting my hump with two jobs, fighting for custody of my child, planning a wedding, and still trying to maintain my sanity. Tashi and I are doing as well as ever and again I appologize for being away soooo long but as you see my absense is warranted by all the irons in the fire. I see that everyone is doing well and that pleases me. I will try not to stay away so long this time.

I might be wrong though, if you find out different let me know because my fiances sisters husband and kids are in the US as a residents and they are having a hard time trying to get her here.

I'm not sure how long but it does it a very long time. They always say it's better to wait but you can also look on the timeline at the service centre you would be going thru. Residents can file for their spouse.

I always thought applying for kids are a lot easier then grown adults but I can be wrong or maybe it just seem that way to me. I had to send her an invitation letter (purpose of her trip) and my employer letter to show I can am financial respons. She's suppose to get the visa tomorrow so she's staying in Portmore tonight w/my cousin. She had to show ties to JA.

Darah,
If you have some curry powder around you can make this quite easily.
CURRY CHICKEN
1 sm. fryer chicken (or two chicken breasts - whatever you are using)
Indian curry (2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons should suffice)
Seasoning salt
Black pepper
Dash brown sugar
1/4 c. vegetable oil
Irish potato
2 c. chicken broth
1 med. bag garbanzo beans (1/2 to 1 can)
1 med. onion
Dice potatoes; set aside in cold water.
Season cut up chicken. (with the salt, black pepper to taste)
In 1/4 cup vegetable oil add brown sugar, cook until dark brown; add onions and curry and seasoned chicken.
Completely cover chicken with mixture. Add 2 cups chicken broth and simmer (ON LOWish HEAT) for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Add garbanzo beans. Drain water from potatoes and add to pot. Cook until potatoes are tender. Serve over boiled rice.
If you dont have curry - you can use tomato paste and turn it into something like chicken cacciatore. Or you can use a mixture of ketchup and soy sauce, but add the soy a bit at a time and keep tasting it to make sure its not too salty.
Congrats Anna!! I think with older folks they figure they won't stay....after first blast of winter anyway.

I've been reading about tourist visas for the past week...it's a bit daunting. Anyhow, if the child is udner 6 they don't need to have an interview but a parent or legal gaurdian still has to appear at a scheduled interview to submit childs passport, etc.
I am probably going to try to efile it this week. I have a $100 paymaster ticket. I am hoping that when you submit the papers, actual available interviews will open up...right now there are no available times....

Congrats Anna on the tourist visa for your Grandma
Elizabeth...Good recipe
Well the puppies are adorable

Once i saw them I just couldn't break Andre's heart and tell him he can't have them. They look really good...good coloring, good markings. They are very skinny and I am sure they have worms and fleas so we are whisking them off to the vet this afternoon. We can afford puppies...but we can't afford really sick puppies. I want to find out before we get extremely attached. We set a limit and that is all we are going to be able to spend (there goes our trip to the east coast

)
Andre is sooooo happy to have something to do during the day and they are a HUGE amount of work...I don't know if he really knows what he got himself into. Because they were abandoned they were really scared and skiddish (sp??) at first but they are starting to feel a lot more secure and are all over us know (if we let them)
Thanks for asking about them. I will post a pic as soon as I get ahold of a digital camera.

I spoke to my grandma and she said they didn't do much she went in at 8:15 and came out at 9:15. They took the application and receipt from her. Then asked who is here in the states and how long is she planning on staying. She brought all this add'l info but they never asked for it. They also asked her how long ago have she seen me which was in Dec so they approved her and told her the visa will be courier to MoBay on Friday. She's not sure how long she got but told them she wanted to come in Aug. I am so happy!!
how long ago did she file for it?
I want to say she applied sometime last year but I remember she waited because she wanted to see what was going on w/me. She applied originally to come to my wedding but since the denial she wanted to wait a little longer. I think the whole thing took about 6 months (give or take) but she took her time.

Hey Jamie -- I have three dogs. I don't know what Roy would be doing with himself all day if they weren't there to keep him company. They are all so cute together. I think the youngest already understands him when he speaks Patois to her. I am thankful that he comes from a family that accepts and likes dogs.

and let them know that they better learn patios
What kind of dogs do you have Mindy? Are they indoor or outdoor?

Hey Ladies,
Just the got the news that my 2nd job laid off everyone from the 2nd shift. I am in shock but everything has a reason. It has been slow for months and I heard rumors but I guess this is it. Anyway, at least I get my nights back to spend w/my daughter.

I worry about the same thing with Trevor. He has never been around any animals, he knows I have three dogs and my mom has two cats. He used to ask me all the time, do they bite, or are they friendly, now he just asked, how are your babies. I guess he will adjust, just like they will have to adjust to him

does anyone know approximately how long it takes for a permanent resident (not yet citizen) to file for his/her spouse? just curious.
I'm not sure how long but it does it a very long time. They always say it's better to wait but you can also look on the timeline at the service centre you would be going thru. Residents can file for their spouse.

Good Morning,
Just wanted to pop in to tell you all the good news. My Grandmother had her interview in Kingston this morning and was granted w/a 10 yr tourist visa!! I am so happy.
Congrats

That's awesome. Aren't they pretty hard to get? We want Tony's kids to be able to come here and visit when they get a little bit older. Would they have to get the tourist Visa also? I wonder how hard that will be

I'm tired of chicken...but that sounds good!!! I need to try to make it that way.
This post thing is confusing me.. How do you reply to a specific post with out all the others reshowing up??

Good evening everyone, I am at work for about 6 hrs of overtime.
About the Visitors visa thing, let me throw in our experience, although Adrian was denied....I went to visit him in JA in July and the 1st thing we did when I got there was find a computer and filled out the application and printed it with the bar code, next we went right over to the paymaster and got a reciept $100 for the visa, we went back to a computer and made the appointment, he soonest appointment they had was 3 weeks away, he went to the embassy on the appointment date, got denied (due to not having strong ties to JA). So all and all it took only 3 weeks and if he would have been approved he would have got the visa 3 days later. Hope this helps anyone who is wanting to know timelines for a visitors visa. Unfortunatly we lost the $100, we also tried to appeal the denial but it didnt work so we lost another $100
If anyone has anymore questions feel free to ask, and I will try to explain our situation more.

Ok guys I was doing good trying not to think about when we might get NOA2 till today, someone posted in the K-1 forum that they got NOA2 today from CSC and thier NOA1 was dated Nov. 9th...our was Nov. 3rd
...I guess I can think positive and know that they are working on some Nov. cases now..I told Adrian and he is doing soooo good trying to encourage me and keep me from stressing so much, but poor thing he is stressing also (he is just trying to hide it from me), he is just so miserable on the ship and has started again with talking about quiting and go back to JA...he is a pool butler on the ship and the Head pool butler leaves in a couple weeks and Adrian thinks he may get the Head pool butler position...so we need prayers that he gets it, it will only be for a short time but I keep telling him it will look good on a resume.

Hi all,
I had gotten kicked out and had to re-register. I still don't know how to post so bear with me. We are working on AOS/EAD papers. Does anyone know if you file for AP at the same time as AOS/EAD does this slow up the process?
