What have you heard about Australian Sheppards?

I have just heard that they can be very destructive- chewing, barking all the time, digging, biting, and those kind of things if they don't have a "job" to do. That they can be very suspicious of their surroundings and that they can become very anti-social and aggressive towards people.

I also heard that they need an enormous amount of exercise to keep them from getting bored and destructive.

Maybe it's not because he was abused then. He's not destructive, he doesn't chew up things, he does like to dig when he is hot, he digs to lay in the cool dirt.

I'm so glad they fixed the site and you are all still here. It is kind of sad to barely be in double digits on the pages, but this way maybe I'll stay up to date! kicking.gif
Congrats on your dogs Jamie and good luck with them! It seems like everyone is getting "baby" fever around here. Joanna your dog is adorable. I love little dogs and want to get one, but I am never home and don't even have a roommate to help out so I'm waiting a while.

Good evening all rose.gif

Rhonda sorry to hear about Tony's loss.

Rita Congrats: My children's father backed off when I told him we were moving to LA. huh.gif It's it's great to see them bonding...My daughter is older so it harder for her.

We had the Chicken recipe for dinner last night, it was the best.

May be we should try and get a visitors visa for David's daughter???? Because the mother refuses to help with the birth certificate issue and we are not there. I' m not sure she can even help unsure.gif I don't know how much time we have left. The mother keeps calling fussing about how she needs money for this and money for that. David's uset because he left 2000$ US in the bank thinking that would hold his daughter for a few months, well at least two, until he starts working.. she claims the money's gone wacko.gif I don't mind sending money but he refuses to right now because he thinks she's lying. His daughter is crying on the phone all the time..It makes him feel so bad.

We are going to mail her christmas gifts and send a care package for her but David is afraid that it may cost to much for them to pick the items up....anyone know about how much we could send without it cost them an arm and a leg to pick up?

We had our first argument..the cause...Driving!!!!He can drive but he is so aggressive... I now have to lean back so I cannot see ...He scares the living hell out of me.... He dosen't know what it means to yeild and he always has the right away mad.gif SO he got mad at me for screaming at him. blink.gif

QUOTE(doodle @ Feb 2 2006, 09:53 AM) *

together----to answer your question, i honestly didn't look. it opened up a bunch in February and March. From my perspective it was very easy to do, so I wouldn't do it until you are ready to go to the interview soon. EXCEPT if its around xmass or summer...that's when it will get busier.

jamie-----getting this visa would be so great because his daughter can continue to see him and start travelling to america. We both think its so important to keep a good relationship and henry would love to have her for 1 month in the summer, maybe some xmass's....i want her to gain the experience and so does henry. Also, it will be much cheaper for her to fly here and stay with us in our house then both of us flying down and spending lots of money and doing a couple days in hotels, etc. it's a big savings. It would be nice if not every one of our vacations were to JA every year too...we both have other places we want to go. Does anyone know if a 6 year old can fly alone?

an update on the appointment. we spoke to the mother last night and the date we picked didn't work for her...so i just went online and entered my password, etc. and it let me change the date to 2/27/06 at 9:45...which was what she wanted. it's not as much of a rush that way...

I'll be around all day star_smile.gif

Thanks alot. We're looking into doing this as well.

anyhow i noticed a stabbing sensation in the centre of my stomach, about 2-3 inches below my breasts. doesnt happen often, just when i lie down and try getting up and since today even when i'm sitting down. it doesnt heard, just feels a little funny. did any of you mothers experience this? the doc says it could be a result of a little hernia as my navel is not as....? as it use to be. i honestly dont remember what he said.

can someone relate with this feeling?
It sounds to me like a hiatal hernia. Very common but rather annoying. Try not to lay down to soon after eating and sleep with an extra pillow under your head and/or shoulders. That may help relieve some of the feeling you have. Slow down on your eating....10 lbs is way to much to gain in one month. Make healthy choices. Keep carrot/celery sticks in a zip lock bag. Buy the little serving size boxes of cereal for a snack. You should only be gaining 2-3 lbs a month at the most. I made the same mistake with my first child because everyone told me to eat more because I was eating for two. I gained 40 lbs!! Glad to hear everything else is going well with the pregnancy.

This has been the cause of many little arguements between me & Tony sad.gif It took him a long time and his first ticket to realize that you can't drive here like you drive in Jamaica. I made him go to court to fight the ticket by himself so he would learn his lesson. It's very difficult but sometimes you just gotta wait it out - he'll learn eventually.

Yeah, Detroit is home of the SuperBowl this year yes.gif That's all you hear about on the news all day long for the past couple weeks! They have a big winter festival going on downtown all week too. There are concerts and parties and all kinds of festivities. I don't know if we'll be going down there or not. Just to park your car is anywhere from $20 to $30 and up! ohmy.gif We have other things we need to do with our money right now! I'm not a big football fan and neither is Tony, but I watch parts of the game to see the cool new commercials that come out. The commercials during the Superbowl cost about 2 million $$$ for like 30 seconds or something crazy! ohmy.gif

Girl, planning a wedding is very stressful just make sure you take a deep breath and try to get others to help. I know it's tempting to do everything alone but it can get real hard and frustrating. But afar from that congrats on moving the next step and the SS card.

Well this weekend I'm going to see Big Momma's House 2 and try to clean up. I haven't done that in a long time and I'm shame when ppl come over. Okay first you have to send a barrel down to Jamaica or it does cost an arm and a leg! Try your local shipping company to see if they do that. Not all do.

Second!!! Dont teach him how to drive!! I did it with my first husband and we almost fought night and day about it. He scared me to until I made him go to driving school twice until I thought he had calmed down!!! : )

Hello,
Well today is rainy and yucky outside...I just went to the grocery store and tanning bed and I am in for the rest of the day with this weather.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Ok I have a question....Adrian and I have really been trying hard to save money so when his interview comes and he goes back to JA and I to go JA also, we have to rent a place to stay cause we dont want to stay with is family in the hills. and rent a car....But anyway on to my question, we were talking last night trying to figure how much money we would need for the visa...here is what we came up with:

Visa fee: $100US
Medical: Approx $200US
No marriage cert: Approx $90.00
Police Cert: can someone help us here? How much is the police Cert. to get it express??

Is that it or is there some thing I am missing?

Well here is a topic I could use everyone's thoughts about. It is a little personal so if you don't want to reply that is fine. I was not raised in a church at all, and became a Christian 2 years ago. So there are some things that I get mixed messages about. One is sex. blush.gif Is it really a big deal to wait until your wedding night? Or is it just something the older ladies in the church make a big deal of? I do realize there is a need to wait for love, but if you know you are committed to your man does the wedding ring need to be there? I would really appreciate your thoughts and experiences if you are comfortable sharing. This is something I need to figure out before I see Peter again, because I want to know my mind before we face temptation whistling.gif again.

This is really not something that anyone can answer for you. If you allow someone to influence you in a way that's not right for you; based on their own experiences or beliefs then it can have adverse effects and consequences. If you're not sure, wait. But whatever you decide let your conscience be your guide.

If you're a Christian, the Bible is to be used as your guide and it will answer your questions. The scriptures in this area are quite clear and I'd be more than happy to provide you with some. Once you study, you'll be able to decide what you as a Christian should do in this situation. Send me a PM if you'd like me to send them to you.

All the best,

This is something I need to figure out before I see Peter again, because I want to know my mind before we face temptation whistling.gif again.

Lee

Yes, the Bible has clear-cut answers on pre-marital sex and I'm sure that the older church ladies were quick to point them out to you(smile). Don't discount their experiences because they are older; they are usually wiser too. Having said that; even the most Bible trained consciences can go out the window in the heat of the moment. Some suggestions to resist temptation: As silly as it may sound to an adult-find a chaperon if possible; "date" only in public places; keep your physical contact "light"; if you drink, drink in moderation; pray and meditate on the consequences and how it will effect your relationship with God. I'm not going to judge anyones beliefs/devotion and parameters of what's allowed and accepted in their individual places of worship. However, some churchs/places of worship strictly enforce the Bible's teachings- with consequences; and some don't. Another consideration is that some will not allow you to marry inside the church if you engage in pre-marital sex. An informal poll among me and my friends/co-workers that are religious is that of those who waited to have sex after marriage is only one regretted waiting(she married an older man that did not have her "energy level" and was disappointed); the rest felt it was the right desicison for them. Of those who didn't wait-about 60% regretted it; 30% didn't care one way or the other and 10% thought that was the best decision for them. Of those who regretted not waiting- the majority cited the effect on their reltionship with God as the main reason for their regret. Also don't allow any man to talk you or coax you into a situation that you're not comfortable with. If you want to wait until marriage and he loves you as much as he should; then he will wait. One last thing; if for some reason (and I'm not saying it will happen, and I hope it doesn't) the relationship ends and you do it; how will you feel?

Best wishes,
Michele

In regards to my poll; I should also point out that I live in the Northeast(Connecticut-near New York). Sometimes it's noted that religious values are higher in certain areas, suchas the south-although personally-I don't necessarily agree with it.

Joanna-I see it took about 90 days- I hope the rest is smooth sailing for you!
