Hi, hope everyone is well.

I am having some initial difficulties in setting up the airline tickets to bring fiance here.

It is starting look like it will be January 2007.

The service I have been using (AAA) told me they could not originate a ticket for my fiance since it was originating in the Philippines.

I fully intend on flying to go get her (round trip from Charlotte to Cebu and back) and coordinate her ticket with mine (one way from Cebu to Charlotte).

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Call your airline of choice direct, this is sometimes cheaper than AAA. You will also be able to coordinate being together for the return flight.

Maybe check with a different travel agent (have your fiancee check with one locally) and see what kind of answer you get. You might be surprised to discover that typically flights ticketed outside the US are cheaper.

Bumped into the same scenario using ORBITZ. Cannot originate a flight from outside the US. No problem. Call the Airline directly. They'll set it up for you. I already asked Continental Airlines a similar question for Fernanda!

Yes, like everyone else says, call the airline directly and they will coordinate tickets. You can visit their websites to get an idea of prices, schedules, etc.

I use Northwest Airlines. You can buy tickets online for your fiance' with no problem. All he/she needs is a print out of his/her E-ticket and their passport. To make things even better, you can pick your exact seat online when you buy the ticket. So you know that you can sit next to your sweetie if your flying together at any point of journey.

Try this link to book your ticket BestTravelStore then have you fiancee go to an agency there and book her oneway flight back on the same flight with you. Believe me her ticket will be cheaper if purchasing there. I have done this many times. I also have agency contact in Manila if you need agency names. Payato

kayak.com lets you purchase a ticket when flight is departing from another country. Check it out.

Yes, Like I stated, get your round trip ticket from Charolette and have your fiance get her ticket there. She can get it cheaper there. Most online travel agencies do not allow the origin outside the U.S. but if you call them you can get the ticket. What most of them do not tell you is you can get the ticket cheaper from the origin than form them. If you need an agency in manil let me know or PM me. Payato

Good website. Funny how it directs you back to Orbitz instead of orbitz letting you book it direct from their site.
Bird, Cheapest flight Cebu-Char on kayak.com was $1300+ one way. I really suggest you get a flight from one of the online agencies and then have your fiance book herself on the same flight and route with an agency in the Philippines. You can also try Ed Mumbunga , he is usually a west coast guy and gets great prices to the PI but not sure what he can do for the return flight. Ed may be able to point you to a preferred agency in Cebu or Manila though. Good luck, Payato

This is more of what I was looking for was a referral to a travel agent. I found a round trip for me about $1600-$1700 through Cathay Pacific, who was really awesome last 2 times I went to visit. $1300 for the one way for Tita is about right from their website right now confirming what you say above.

Thanks

I flew my fiancee, one way from manila, for $650 thru NW Airlines. $1300 sounds like round-trip prices.

That was the price on the website which redirected back to orbitz which is expensive. A travel agent will probably be his best bet at this point or to call BestTravel Store. That price was first week in Jan and we all know Nov-Mar is peak travel time to the PI and the prices go up. I was checking on prices online for Nov and they were ranging from $700 with an over night in Taiwan (3 days to get there, no thank you), $1100 and up for JAL and other US carriers. But my local agency got me PAL direct for $710... it pays to shop around. Payato
