I've chosen to start a new topic for these questions for the benefit of others as well. I'll insert my responses within your orginal message.
Dear members who have used shortcuts and seen the actual stuff send from NVC..........pse enlighten us.........

thought to get further details about that.........
[1] pse tell us whether the cover letter as well as the authorization sheet we make by using the shortcuts is good enough......or wld you suggest to wait to recieve it from NVC ????
Reply: Yes, in my opinion it's close enough. The text body in my shortcut version was shifted down a few lines, and the generated barcode using the instructions was slightly smaller - a tiny bit shorter in height and about 1/2" shorter in length. It is missing the four asterick stars in the upper right corner, though. Don't know if that's a problem. Go ahead and sent it bcoz you'll wait upwards of 10 days to receive after NVC generates it. I'm sure the purpose of this form is to be able to scan in the case number for internal tracking.
[2] also the "authorization sheet for release of Federal Tax Data" when i opens it in my system its 155% and other other shortcuts opens normally........so what shld i do........get the document reduced to 100% and get the print.......or have to get the prints in 155% ????????
Reply: I can't recall what I saw when I opened the shortcut form in MS Word, but I had very little trouble with the barcode generation and pasting. This sheet almost matches the original perfectly. A suggestion - print the master sheets before you make any changes, then compare the layout to the sheet you generate.
[3] about this difference in zip codes .......is the change in zip code is only in the outer envelope or its the cover letters also????????
Reply: No, the cover letter had the same address as has been reported - zip is 03801-2909 on the barcode sheet. That's what I used.
[4] their is four stars in the "Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data" short cut form..... so are you saying that this star is in the cover letter also?????????
Reply: Yes, the same stars are on the AOS barcode sheet.
sorry to ask to so many questions.........but gaining knowledge from the experienced helpful VJ members is the main objection of this site .......so just shooting this Q's expecting the answers.........

I've already sent the DS230 last week, so when the original forms arrive later this week I'll be checking those, too.
At this point, I'd say go ahead. I'm not expecting any problems using the shortcut forms.
