Can someone tell me what are they supposed to do with the sealed envelope. Does the customs officer take it or are they supposed to give it back? What happens on the day your fiance enters the states?

When Claudeth came she gave the envelope to the customs officer. I assume the envelope is forwarded to the USCIS, maybe in Chicago, for AOS if applied for. I would assume it goes to the local office that is doing the interview but Claudeth didn't have an interview for the restricted card so am not sure.

It does eventually end up at the local office where your interview is held. Every piece of paper submitted, including your emails to each other etc end up there also. We send about 175 emails alone and some poor soul read all of them !! The bod I saw noticed some of our emails to each other were highlighted, she said they do that if theres anything suspicious or "juicy " laughing.gif Ours were juicy !!

The customs officer does not take the sealed envelope because by the time you get to the customs officer the immigration officer will have already taken it from you.

They hand carry it to their POE where the immigration officer takes them away and never to be seen again.
