Very nice lady answered, asked how she could help me, I asked if I had an interview date, she told me no, so I asked the timeline. She said it could be August or Sept.

At least I know I'm still in the running here.

Just got this in response to my email I sent yesterday,

You are still on the waiting list. It could take at least six months to book you for an appointment

WTF???

Just got an email back:

Your packet was received on the July 19th, the current waiting period for an interview is up to 6 months.

Sooooooooo does the lack of 4-8 months replaced with "up to" 6 months sound promising to anyone?

Think it's been 6 months for a bit now...I find myself grasping at anything, our Pkt 3 went back in mid April and I'm feeling really discouraged, mostly due to the fact that I can't make a solid wedding plan...it's like a moving target

It is 6 months from March 28th, the day they received your P3 at Montreal. On here you are next in line for the letter. Their 6 month thing has to be a worse case senario and not at all the factual or realistic timeframe, you're going to get it in couple of weeks

I don't think they meant six more months as of now, just that the total time from the time they received your paperwork to the time of your interview can be up to six months. They could be a bit more clear (and they could have answered your question more directly!) I think you'll be late August or early September but we'll see.

Well, Sharon is excited, and I've had to do a bit of scrambling to get everything together for my trip to Ottawa to pick up Sharon, then on to Montreal for the interview. We are both also excited, but now is the "real" preping time... we are going to finalize the file this weekend in preparation for the Aug 8 interview date... [[sss... carrrr.... eedd]]

Sorry Melyssa, but there seems to be quite a few that are missing from the list you got. I noticed that when copied and pasted into MS Word the formating changes, and that there are 3 page brakes, not one under the other but 2 where the first and second pages are under each other and the 3rd page is off to the side. I am slowly re-typing the doc and will send to you asap and retain it making changes as needed.

I called on the 20th so I'm not expeccting any changes between then and today, once we get into September I will call more often most likely once a week. Len just remember that placement on the list here does not necessarily match the consulate list, we have our priorities and they have theirs. I'm here waiting for you to tell me that you got your letter s I can look for mine.

I hope you took the week off to get here. Monday the 6th is part of a long weekend here and you may not want to be on the roads travelling. All the best to you and Sharon, you are just days away from the better part of this journey, that is walking out of the consulate with the visa on its way to you.

Calm, cool and collected is the way to go, you have everything you need, just don't get stressed that will just cause confusion. When at the consulate meet and greet Alan and Sharon they will be there also and in the same shape you will be, support each other. All the best to you and party afterwards.

I emailed Montreal this week. I know that I won't hear anything until September/October but it makes me feel like I'm doing something. I asked if our interview had been scheduled and the lengthy reply was "Not yet". I'm with Ron & Sharon on this one - come September I'll start calling/emailing them regularly to see what's up.

I totally forgot about Réjean & Pamela, they are also going to be at the Consulate on August 8th, all the best to all of you, I hope you can all meet and share a coffee and stories after the interview.

I’m tired of having to get mine cut every two weeks so maybe I’ll shave what is left or start one of those bleach shampoo treatments and get rid of what is left for good so there will be no need to shave the head every few days. Sharon, that is good news, no more work for a while other than getting the relationship back on track which will be more pleasure than work. Packing can be good too since it will be near the last time you will be using that room. I'll put my foot in my mouth and say that I am sure you are the only ones on the list with Aug 1, it is too bad because it would be nice to meet others from here, there, but with Alan beside you, you don't need anyone else. Enjoy the trip and the company, and don'T shave your head shave Alan's.

I received my Packet 4 from MTL yesterday, and there in amongst other requirements, there is one that says:

ALL DS-156 FORMS ARE REQUIRED IN AN ELECTRONICALLY COMPLETED FORMAT IN ENGLISH.
FORMS MAY BE DOWNLOADED AT : HTTP://EVISAFORMS.STATE.GOV
PRINT THE ENTIRE FORM INCLUDING THE BAR CODE IN DUPLICATE.

Q: There was a DS-156 form in my Packet 3 that I think it says that I need to sign this at the Interview day!
So, should I fill out that form (from my Packet-3) as well as an electronic version in duplicate ?

LOL oops i think I anoyd montreal a lil , i send my package the 23rd so when I saw it got signd for i e maild them asking to confirm the delivery , well theyr response was , new mail will not be processd for another 2-3 weeks ,
so now a week later i e maild them again ( I know am a pain lol ) well theyr response was in caps ,
YOUR CASE WILL NOT BE LOOKD AT FOR ANOTHER 1-2 WEEKS ,

With regards to the mail backlog, someone else who sent their packet 3 earlier this month or last month said that Montreal was backlogged with mail too. I dont think it was 2-3 weeks back then though... but hey with Montreal they might have fallen behind even further since then with opening mail too.
