Happy, happy day! It's amazing how just a couple of interviews scheduled brings back some positivity and hopefulness to this whole process!

I received the letter in the mail today. Dated Jul 17 and mailed out July 18. Not sure why they said it was mailed out Monday. Heres hoping for some more August Interviews.

Just a random question, but for all you CR1/IR1 applicants out there, when you received your interview date, did you have to call and speak to an actual person at NVC, or does it get updated on their automatic phone response system?
Its easier for me to get updated from their machine since I have to use a calling card everytime I call in, and waiting for an operator gets expensive after 5-10 min. of waiting

No Checklist as such...
Just says where they are located, my appointment time/date, and to have all required documents along with one photocopy of each, 2 photographs, Medical exam results, valid passport and US$100.00 (cash only) DS156 to be completed electronically in english.

So I think most people on here know about the 'weird' out of date interview letter my fiance got week before last. So I had called Montreal last Monday to see what was actually going on. The lady told me that it would be August or September for the interview. Seeing that I am now extremely paranoid because of the weird letter situation, I called again today. The lady I spoke with today tells me "He's on a huge waiting list. It's going to be a long time." I said "Do you mean maybe as late as September?" She says, "No, I mean quite possibly long after that. There is a huge backlog."
I know there is nothing anyone can do about it and maybe for our particular case it's just as well, but....how does it change that drastically from one week to the next?? sigh. Sorry, just ranting, I guess.

No. The weird letter from week before last said July 5....2006 THAT was what was weird. His first scheduled interview was October of last year. We've had to reschedule do to his illness.

WHAT?!?!?! Talk about nonsense. Wonder what exactly went on... seems pretty fishy.- Why don't you call the Department of State? they are way better with accurate info, and more pleasant than MTL.- phone is (202) 663-1225, then 1, then 0.

after going through the backlog with VSC, cant wait for the Montreal backlog!! ..LOL

147 and 129 days is a really long time for approvals at VSC. When I was waiting for my approvals at CSC, VSC was running about 25-30 days while CSC was at about 95 days.
Now on to the next stage...

Turns out the DoS has up-to-the-minute information on all cases (this from pushbrk who knows a lot about this) - they are way nicer than MTL personnel, and take calls all day long during office hours. CALL THEM my friend!!!! They may be able to shed some light into your case!

I am still trying to see if they can move me up to first week of August since we are closing on our house on the 20 and I would like to be there before the closing.
Hopefully they will get all of March P3 senders in August.

...I kept hearing that I was LUCKY to get the "fast" Sevice center..(VSC)..LOL.. there are still March filers waiting for NOA2's!! ... Just about had a fit!! Jim's here, so we're going to call at 2pm and see if they're anywhere close to me. I emailed them yesterday.
That would be so nice to be able to have him here and find out about the interview.
Lance, I'm the end of March, but I'm still hoping to at least hear something. Looks like they're just tossing interviews out now.
