Im trying not to let this get to me..I am SO happy for everyone...but really starting to feel like Montreal has forgotten us... *sigh*...we just went through this with VSC, saw everyone pass us by and get their NOA2's super quick it took us 4 months!...I just emailed Montreal last week (on the 24th, reply on the 25th) and they said they had no date for our case yet... when should I try emailing them again..? not trying to sound whiny, just starting to have VSC flashbacks here!..LOL

Well folks, we've gone and done it.... MARRIED on October 6th in a beautiful ceremony..... Sorry for the lack of posts for a bit, but between getting Sharon here, all the paperwork, wedding arrangements, more paperwork, licenses, oh, and a few snuggles in there every so often, we've been kinda busy. NOW it's MORE paperwork, a LOT more money, well, you know the drill..... But all part of the process

EVERYONE keep your heads up, if you are still waiting, it WILL happen. THe worst part of our experience was just never knowing WHEN, but take it one day at a time. Every day means you are one day closer to the I Do's!
Love you guys, and Good Luck and God Speed to everyone still waiting!

I am new to this forum and I don't know how to start so I picked your name. My only question as I am waiting for the interview now is how long it generally takes between the time NVC receives all documentation and the interview? June 7 is the date NVC back East received all paperwork and I am still waiting. Is this normal?

Depends on what visa you're going for and which consulate (Vancouver or Montreal) is going to hook you up with an interview. It's a long wait for some (say 6 months from case completion to interview I hear) but worth it. Welcome to VJ!!!!

Can you - or someone else - tell me what are the steps after NVC tells you that they have received your complete application and they are waiting for the interview to be schedule. They tell me that June7 was the day that all paper were received, and as of today, October 12 07, I am still waiting for ???
My husband and I have started the proces November 2006.
Any help would help me understand this rather long process

For the xpresspost envelope, do you write Montreal's US Embassy's address in the FROM section as it's written on packet 3 or 4?
liz_legend 'n Ol
Oct 17 2007, 07:55 PM
and one more question.. I had to submit the DS-156 forms with the barcode in packet 3, right? (I'm asking b/c it's been so long I can't remember..)
anyway.. since Oliver's moving and his job phone number has now changed, should I be re-filling out that form to get a new barcode?
Well, I did anyway..
but I'm going to take the old DS-156 & the new one to the interview..
my question though is that the barcode looks weird on the 3rd page.. it's like it's running away off the page!
here's a picture:
Click to view attachmentthat doesn't look right and it certainly doesn't look like the barcode on the old DS-156..

I would print out a new one with the job change just in case (I also have to take a newer version of one of the forms to reflect that my mother in law is now deceased)...
I would *think* that as long as they can read the number it should be fine...
*opinions welcome*... the last time I contacted Montreal (email) to see if we had an interview date was Oct 2nd and we got "no sorry no date yet, might be another 2-4 months", do you think its too soon to send them another email? especially after Toronto/New York got that long generic email..hmmm..

I did write their address in the return address fields and I think they liked that - probably saved them some time.

I guess there's no harm in emailing - at worst you will get the generic email that i received... it's up to you. my last email to them too was Oct. 1... just a day before your last email to them. let me know what you decide! good luck!!! : )
