My situation and a couple of questions.

Received EAD and AP.
I will be working for a US company, on location IN CANADA, for 10 days and am flying in for my AOS interview Nov 14th. After the interview I will be flying back to Canada for a few more days to finish the contract. I will then return home to the US.

Questions:
1) Do I need to hang on to the I-94 issued with the K1 for presentation at the AOS interview?

(I know from experience with my stamped 'multiple entry' I-94 w/ L1-b visa that every border in and out of the US seemed to have a different idea of what to do with the I-94 ... no consistency)

2) If I don't get a stamp at the AOS interview will there be any problems re-entering on the AP?

I realise I'm probably worrying about nothing. I's just that I've invested so much time in this process ....

my husband didnt get a stamp during his interview for aos. he is still waiting on security checks but she did take his I-94 at the interview. he went to visit his family in syria and they asked for his i-94 at the airport and he said they took it at the interview and showed him his ap papers and they didnt have a problem. when he intered back into the country they gave him a new i-94 and stamped his ap papers. no problems. as long as u have those advance parole papers i think u will be fine.

thanks for you input donnaal.

I guess I'm concerned that my original I-94, issued with K1, will be taken when I cross into Canada, and I won't have it when I return for my AOS interview.

solarus,

Your I-94 should be taken from you if you leave the country, and under such circumstance you won't need it at your AOS interview. But make some photocopies of it before you leave for future reference.

One of the things that happens at an AOS interview is a review of the I-485 form to confirm that the information is current. Any information that is not current, such as last entry into the USA, will be updated on the form.
