David and I met on a message board, but it was some time before he contacted me via chat, in Sept 05...... pretty soon we realized we are compatible in more ways we thought possible
first we started researching his move to Croatia, since he wouldn`t need a visa only work and stay permit but because of the custody of his son which would cause additional complications we decided against it.
His move here, without his son, was completely unacceptable for both of us and as it would take much longer to sort all the paperwork concerning his son`s move we decided that the K1 is a faster and less complicated for us.
So now, here we are- waiting for our NoA 1
I swear, if this process doesn`t teach me patience nothing will....

yes i know what you mean the waiting is almost unbearable at time, I just try to keep my mind focused on POSITIVE thins, like planning for our future, small weddig details, and so forth, and of course I am always on VJ, it really helps me a lot interacting with people that are in the same boat as I am....Good luck to you on your proces

yes, I know what you mean..... I spend time on VJ more for the sake of bearing through, knowing there are many more in the same boat as us- that`s what really helps

Good luck on your journey! It definately *tries* to teach patience, but now that I only have another 29 hours until my Sweetie arrives, I must say I am feeling a bit antsy! I think it does teach you not to take the other person for granted. How many people have never had to spend a longer chunk of time apart from their loved one, to make them realize every single thing that they would miss? This is our third time apart, a total of 7 months apart since we met, and abscence really does make the heart grow fonder...But hopefully this is out last ever abscence!!

nitedreamer, I agree- despite being tremendously hard, this process does give an insight into the relationship and your partner that most people (not forced to spend such long time apart) aren`t blessed with....
however, I am slowly getting to a phase of "thank you very much, can we move on now?"
