How do you know when the embassy has your petition/papers from the NVC? I emailed them and they said no info yet. Is there a way to track it through DHL?
Jim_Tanja
Check out the following thread for instructions on finding packages leaving the NVC. When you see one going to Moscow after the date on the NVC letter your case should be in there. You can track that DHL number to see when it arrives at the embassy.

IMHO, the DHL doesn't really give you what you want; it won't help you guess when her interview will be.
You can send the consular division emails requesting status of whether it's been received.
Include MOS in your email, you name [petitioner], and your fiancee's name.
Also, check the Embassy site for scheduled interviews by MOS and Receipt Number.
I found that even with all that, the only way we knew was basically (1) when our number got posted with the interview date and (2) Maria received the letter/package. I did get a confirmation email reply to my many inquiries.
You can try many things; the best is to sit tight and send emails and check the interview dates.
If you look at others' most recent timelines you can estimate when yours will be assuming everything's in order and you don't have a complicated filing. I estimated about 8/15 for ours and another petitioner I was in contact with. His finacee's was 8/14 and Maria's was 8/16. I'd say my estimates were fairly close!
Good luck and used multiple approaches.

I could tell the exact day the embassy received it, but I could tell if they received it.
Go to:
http://moscow.usembassy.gov/consular/wwwhcisk.html
Find your case number there and you know that the embassy both received it and scheduled an interview for you.

I am unsure about that link, it appears to have older dates only?

Maybe try this one:

I agree.
I just went off the incorrect link offered at:

It's shame they changed the links, because it now makes this site worthless:

Boy is that a flash... I remember when that was first created and we were putting up information on the Moscow Embassy on that page... way back when (said the old-timer...) in 2003...

LOL

I wish the interviews had been that easy several years ago. They have eased up considerably, reading the reviews of recent ones... I remember when they were like hell for the women!!!

A complicated filing? I thought the chaos was over and our place in line was established....hmmm lol
Barry2005
Ok mine left the NVC Oct. 16 so Moscow got it on Oct 18 I guess. Is that right?
slim
I got a snail mail from NVC saying what the new MOS case number was.
