My fiancee got her visa stamped a month ago..now is currently waiting to buy a ticket to come to usa. This is going to be her first trip outside of her country. I am debating whether to go there , and come back with her?? or let her do it on her own? if i were to go, once we arrive in POE, can i go into her line??

Sure. That's what I did when I returned to the US with my fiancee. Told the officer I was a US citizen comming in with my fiancee who is traveling on a K-1. No problem at all. We used the line for visitors.

Our POE Miami we all (including her two sons) went through the citizen line. No problems!! Good luck whatever you decide!! rose.gif

Good idea. I think the citizen line moves a lot faster than the visitors.

It seems some POE's handle things differently but most of them have an officer mingling with the crowd and just ask which line......

fwaguy,

Agreed - ask an officer on the floor doing 'crowd control'. They'll generally send you to whichever lines are shortest to even out the processing load.

Bharat,

I felt a little apprehensive about my (now) husband and son traveling alone, too. It was their first trip overseas and first big jet trip, too. I felt better traveling there, spending a little more time getting to know more of his family, and traveling with my (then) fiance and son to the US. With changing planes and a long layover in Bangkok, I think it was definitely the right decision. At the POE (JFK) I asked the roving officer if I could go with them into the non-citizen line and he seemed fine with that.

It was really fun and interesting seeing their reactions to things along the way, too.

I'll bet your fiancee would be relieved and happy to have you by her side during the trip and at the POE.

Best wishes, whatever you decide, and congratulations!

Shoudn't have problem come in. I came in by myself a year ago with no problem at all... but if you have time and willing to do so... why not?
Bunnyqr
I'm thinking of doing the same. Fly there, say good bye with him to his family and fly back together. We will be flying to JFK and I know how that is and I am the USC. I can only imagine what it would be like if he did it alone.

We flew from Bangalore INDIA, to JFK. When we got there The custum agent told us we can go to the Citizen Line, so you can go either way but the citizen line is faster. Of course if you have the time off work, and the financial is there, it's great if you can go, otherwise there are AOS coming up, not able to work for awhile, Adjusting to the new place, you can save up that funds for a few out of town getaway, again, COngrats and Bon Voyage!!
