Today I spoke with someone from the NVC and they have our K-1 pettition from the CIS. Great news,,however, he said that it can take up to 8 months to process this before they send it to the embassy in Bogota. What is with this??........I believe that the CIS approval is only valid for 4 months.....

Unless you are in administrative review, it will be about 1 month tops.

It depends on the complexity of the case, My petition was at NVC for over 3 months, with no explanation they approved it. All you can do is wait.

I would call back in about 3 or 4 days and ask again. Sounds like you may have got someone tired of answering phones. Once a number is assigned at NVC it should take about 4 days to reach Bogota.

This is all considering you do not go into administrative review. If so, they should tell you that you are in admin review.
