I have a question..what is the Arabic name for the gift of money that is usually given to women and children? Thanks!

Yes, you're supposed to. My ex husband and his nephew (the only member of his family that lives in MI) always gave me money for el Eid....that is until the big "D".

Hicham told me that kids get money and gifts such as new clothes for Eid.

That is true..kids get small amounts of money from (it seems) everyone they run into on Eid. Traditionally everyone gets new clothes. The women usually get money from their husbands and/or other male relatives. At least that's how it goes for Yemenis.
