Thanks again, everyone. Brief update:

Luis and I had our interview this morning. Everything went so well until the very last minute. We had been approved, when suddenly, the CO noticed another person in the ¨system¨ with a name extremely similar to my husband´s. His twin brother has the same first and last names, but a different middle name. So the CO asked Luis who this person was, and Luis said, ¨My twin¨. And the CO told him that his twin had a ¨big problem with immigration¨and that he would need to have Luis verify that he was Luis and not his twin brother.....

Ughhh...so we had to pay $85 to get fingerprints done and sent through an FBI check, which takes a couple of days. They said they would call with the results, and only at that time, would we know our status.

I desperately wanted this nightmare to end today, but it looks as though we have more waiting to do. I will stay in Lima until all this is taken care of (hopefully by next week), and then bring my Luis home with me.

It´s was an extremely frustrating day. I hope I never have to go to the Embassy again.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You might succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far.

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse, that you must not quit.

sorry to hear about this delay. Hopefully it is all taken care of soon. At least you already have the approval once he proves that he is not his brother. that is something positive to look forward too.

I am reading this and ready to cry... perfect for this couple going through this turn of events. And also perfect for all of us reading this.

You are in my prayers that the fingerprints go through with flying colors and you are both on the plane together with the weight off your shoulders.
