My daughter (she is 6 years old)will follow me to the US under my K1 status can someone tell me exactly what's the procedure/procedures. And does she need to attend when I go for my medical and interview? Thanks a lot in advance.... smile.gif

I can't speak directly for Manila but I know the child is to attend the interview in Kiev.

Your daughter should be or have been named on the I-129F, once you are approved then the K-2 will automatically follow for the child.

if you plan on using K-2 for follow to join, the K-2 will have to be issued within one year from the issuance of your K-1 visa. make sure to allow plenty of time to arrange for an interview. the child will also have to have a medical prior to the interview. if more than a year lapses, you will have to start from scratch and file a
I-130 for the child.
the child does not need to attend your medical and interview unless you are applying for the k-2 at the same time. if you get the k-2 at the same time and plan on follow to join, remember that k-2 will expire six months after it is issued. it can not be renewed. it could be difficult to travel back to the Philippines in the first six months you are here in US. you would need an Advance Parole for travel I-131 if you are still in AOS.
