PLEASE NOTE: Effective immediately, all visa applicants are required to submit electronically-completed DS-156 visa application forms. Hand-written forms will no longer be accepted. If you appear for your interview with a hand-written DS-156 application form you will be turned away and assigned another date for your interview. You must complete the electronic form on-line at http://evisaforms.state.gov in either French of English, print out the entire form including the third (barcode) page, and bring it with you to the interview.

This is very important, since in the past the staff in Montreal tended to frown on downloaded forms.

Has this information showed up in packet 3's sent recently?

There may have been a discussion about this already. Some people are sticking to exactly the hard copy forms they received in Package 4. To be on the safe side, I believe there was someone who submitted an electronic form but also brought a hard copy to the interview, just in case. (Maybe someone could refresh my memory on this.)

Thanks, flames.

The packet I got on Friday tells of having to use the online forms. That is exactly what I plan to do. Keep it simple as they say. Follow their instructions and we should be ok! good.gif

I just like to pint out, to make it very clear, I was only kidding!! Cassie helped me out a lot when I was going through the process and I think very highly of her, even though she is an east coaster and doesnt come from the west, lol

I received my Packet 3 in August and it had the old forms to be handwritten and submitted. When I received Packet 4 at the beginning of this month, it specifically said to go to the website and use the electronic form.
So I guess between when I received Packet 3 and 4 they were in transition of using the electronic rather than the handwritten.
Personally, I loved the electronic. If I can use Adobe to fill out forms, I will...save my hand from cramping up. wink.gif whistling.gif
