I have an urgent question to ask before I go to my interview on Tuesday. I remember when we sent in our K-1 petition, we had to write on the back of the photographs with a certain pen or pencil. Can someone please tell me what we're allowed to write on the back of the photographs with?? Thanks in advance. smile.gif

For the petition it says pencil or felt tip pen

I can't imagine that it really matters - I used a black permanent marker on ours (wasn't willing to take any chances that it would rub off) and no problems.

Thanks. I have some pictures I'm bringing to the interview and I didn't want anything to go wrong or them to reject them for some stupid reason.

no offense, but based on past experience and based what others have posted, I doubt it that they will even look at them smile.gif I had stacks of them with me and didn't show one of them.

Rather be safe than sorry. wink.gif

oh, I am not saying not to take pictures. What I am saying is that it really doesn't matter what you use to write on the back of them. smile.gif

I suspect they want to discourage ball point pens because they could leave an imprint that shows through on the front of the photo. Carry a felt tip pen if it makes you feel prepared.

Ok I have a combination of pictures to bring of myself, my daughters, Dave and his daughter. I am supposed to write on the back of each who and when etc? I must have missed this. That will be another assignment for getting ready.
Next question.....how many pics should I bring. All recent? Or a combination of pics over the last year or two? What about emails etc. Do these need to be current or is stuff from the past appropriate? Phone bills? We have two years of phone bills. Certainly we don't have to bring all of them??
Proof of ongoing relationship....what is required for the # of items? Anyone? tongue.gif

Only going from VJ posters, you won't require much at all. I was a cr-1 case, they didnt ask for anything I had brought. I bought a plastic accordian style binder, had like 13 slots in it. Brought pics --maybe 10-- of us, som eincluded pics of us with her family, and with mine. I had her listed on my insurance papers, Brought a few copies of ourt cel lphone records, one form a very early date and then a recent one. Plane tickets to DC. I had a lot, they never looked at it. Again from the readings on VJ, if they ask for anything it appears they wil ask for a pic. I didnt write on the back of my pics, the date was on the front. The interview is pretty quick, your in and out in less than 10 min for a standard case, so they won't have lots of time to spend going through evidence, they have other people to see that day as well. For most people, the interview is the easist part of the process, at least for us Cdns, not so for other parts of the world. Best of luck

Phew! Ok well I think I have way way way more than I need!! I am thinking a few phone bills, a few pictures a few proofs of travel. Should be enough. Otherwise, I'd need to have David tote a box of stuff for me!!

They didn't ask for pics or other info either just pertinent documents with originals and photocopies!
