Hi, I am just wondering whether anyone recently came to US on K1 got temp EAD stamp at Las Vegas? I noticed LAS gave the stamp before but I do not see any recent arrivals' info. Thank You.

I can now speak with confidence on the matter of Temp EAD stamps as my fiancee has gone to get her SSN and is applying for jobs at this moment.

The Temporary EAD stamps are no longer being used because they are not needed. As of 3 years ago the SSA and/or DHS mandated that certain Visas had the ability to work. K1 and K3 Visas are included in those.

So... by showing your passport and I-94 with K1 stamped on it and your SS card stamped with the "...able to work with DHS authorization" is all you need to apply for a job.

Infact if your fiancee speaks good english or you go along for the interviews it IS possible to get a job without actually having the SS card with you when they hire you. I know this because there have been numerous times where I got hired for a job, but had to ask for a few days to get my SS card from a security box or a packing box. Just show the receipt you get at the SSA that shows you applied for one and it is coming in 3 to 14 business days. This can easily be explained by someone that speaks good english or you the american citizen.

Good luck and happy job hunting!
