I have a quick question. I filed DCF through Canada for my husband as we both lived in Canada at the time. I the USC have since moved back to the US to get a job and a place to live for us. Do i need to file a change of address? I looked at the I865 but it says that you would use that if you have filed an I864 which we haven't done yet because we haven't had our interview in Montreal yet. Any one know?

The instructions on the form are not complete. Its used for any USC sponsor, whether you've completed the I-864 yet or not. My hubby had to do one as well, before our I-130 was even approved.
Its the only form that actually gets USCIS to update your address. Tho for a DCF, I don't know if you can, because they may transfer your case to the US.
Call or email the consulate where you applied and ask them.

Our case is already at Montreal because we are DCF. I will try to e-mail them and see if I need to fill out anything. I'm not sure why they would transfer our case to the US when we are already at Montreal that doesn't make any since. Hopefully Montreal will let me know but I guess I will fill out a I-865 just incase that is what they want me to send them.

I e-mailed Monteral last night and got a response back from them today. They only require me to change my address via e-mail directly to them. Just thought I would update what Montreal said for future DCF cases if this comes up again
