Hello All,

I didn't see a Ukraine forum so is it ok if I crash THIS party?

I'm coming down to the wire with my Ukrainian fiance-----her next most pressing task is to get the certificates from the Poe-leece that say she isn't a criminal. Has to have one from each place she's resided---which will be two----Kiev (at present) and her smal town near Lviv in western UA.

Anybody have experience with this? Where exactly do you go in Kiev? Would she go to her smal-town police? (she doesn't thinks so) or to the bigger regional cop-shop in Lviv? (she thinks so).

ALSO: anybody buying/bought airline tickest to Ukraine now or recently?

Last time I went I got a pretty good deal thru Cheapseats.com but not it appears my chosen airline (Lufthansa) no longer flys to the airport of my choice (Charlotte, NC)--- tickets are a LOT pricier than last year too!
I'd be glad to hear from anybody trying to get ther or who has sucessfully of late.

I tried to answered your first question in your other post..

I just returned from my third trip to Ukraine about 3 weeks ago. Prices are higher today than previously but that is a general trend. The era of $600 RT flights is gone for the moment. I used either sidestep.com or Kayak.com to book my flight. It was a September flight from MSP to ODS on LOT for about $1100. Was it a good deal? Don't know, but it seemed in the range of other fares and it was one of the few options I had that allowed me not to have an overnight stay in a European hub city. That was worth a little premium for me.

My suggestion is to check all availabe resources when checking flights (including travel agencies and consolidators as well as the internet).

Welcome to the Russia (FSU) forum. This is definitely where you need to be. The Soviet mentality doesn't have it's own forum, but this is the closest thing you'll find!

Not always the cheapest just depends. I have flown Aerosvit to Kiev from JFK and thought they did a good job as well. Flight was on time and the service onboard was good.

I too used GTR's services and have to give them a good.gif

Not necessary to arrange travel, you're on the internet, do that yourself through yahoo, travelocity, or one of the other 2,000 travel sites out there. But, GTR is great for visas and registration. (Although, for short stays in UA, that's not really necessary either! Lucky dog!)

Aerosvit maybe not chiepest....to go to Kiev.
People think it is chiep but it could be actually more expensive espessialy if your flight from outside NY..... check Delta and Arosvit You could be surprised....

I paid 760 for Phoenix-> NY->Kiev and back in November.... Delta.... Need a agent?

I got a 5yr multi-entry visa to UA a couple years back all by myself. No intermediary required. The current 90 no visa program is sure a nice change. Not having to register at OVIR is awesome too.. Sorta why I shyed away from Russia
