Full Version: Changing to married name on USCIS profile

I'm re-posting on this forum because I didn't receive much response on the AoS forum. It's a general question anyway, hope that's ok.

I came in on a K-3 visa four months ago. My wife is a US citizen.

She has recently found time to change her maiden name to her new married name on her official documents - passport, driving licence etc.

We assume that the USCIS records will also need to be updated. Does anyone know the correct method for doing this? Is there a name change form? Should we submit a new Biography form for her? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

no need really, they'll probably assume that she'll be changing her name. Just whenever you send in your AOS forms, or go back for your CR1, you can put her married name on the forms now.

Johnny Spangle,

The next time that you need to submit an application to the USCIS, where the application asks for your wife's name fill in the name that she is using at the time. (Unless specifically asked for maiden name).

If asked for 'Other Names Used' put the alternate name in that spot.
