Sick of waiting for my K-3

Then don't wait!!

The NBC has been up and down and all over the place for a while now. One thing you can be grateful for and concentrate on is the CR-1 which has moved along quite quick for you. For some members the K-3 works faster, for others the CR-1. When we first filed the I-130 in Oct 2005 we had intended at the time to also file the I-129F but we procrastinated and luckily so as the I-130 was approved at VSC in 45 days making filing for the K-3 a waste of time and money. I ceased worrying because after all the CR-1 is the biggie.

All the best for the remainder of your journey.

Oh yeah, I feel that symptom since the 30th day of waiting approx...the anxiety is high..and feel of abandonment complete...every bit of silence in the process is like a coitus interruptus!... whistling.gif

Yep, impossible to answer except to say that usually the I-129F is sent off immediatley after receiving the NOA1 for the I-130. The more one procrastinates the less benefit there is in going the K-3 route. At one stage when approvals for I-130 where averaging a year a more, a couple of months procrastinating over filing the I-129F would have minimal effect. Over the past couple of years I-130's have been generally approved at a much faster rate making procrastinating especially more of a factor in whether one should still file the I-129F. Naturally one also has to consider that anything can happen during this process that can cause a petition to be held up eg background/security checks, RFE's etc. Its weighing everything up and making a decision taking everything into account. If we had filed the I-129f on receipt of the NOA1 and not procrastinated at service center & NVC stage, chances are the K-3 would of gotten me to the US 6-8 weeks earlier. For us the benefits of waiting that extra couple of months for the CR-1 far outweighed the K-3. One sometimes has to look at the bigger picture rather than just going solely with the heart and the want of being together that little bit earlier.

Good luck in whatever decision you make.

You've received the benefit of a place in line in case anything goes wrong with the I-130.

Think of it like insurance.

If it makes you feel any better think about it this way...at least you have your I130 approved. I applied around the same time actually a few days before you did and you have at least one of your applications approved. We have not heard any thing yet no I130 or noI129f. So hang in there and be happy that you know at least you have some type of application moving along. Cheers hope you have great news to share soon.=0)
