Dear Mr........:

I received your fax with the I-129 F. Based on the information on the receipt the National Benefits Center is working this petition. According to their website, NBC is currently working I-129Fs with a "Notice Date of March 20, 2006" as of September 19, 2006. Your wife's petition is dated July 20, 2006.

Based on the receipt number of your I-130, it appears to have a date of June 20, 2006. The California Service Center is the center working the I-130s. Currently CSC are working petitions dated March 20, 2006 as of September 19, 2006.

Manny, did you by chance sign a G-28 for this agency that helped you with the paperwork? This form allows all correspondences from USCIS to go directly this agency. Hopefully, they will have a copy of the I-130 for your records. If not, attached is a link that could give you instructions to file for duplicate paperwork: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/dupapp.htm

Please keep in mind when you filed the I-129 and I-130, you have to keep both petitions active. They are on parallel tracks and both need to keep moving forward.

I hope this information helps.

Sincerely,

.............
Constituent Services Representative

This is from my district office. This person is supposed to be the immigration expert but it sounds like he/she doesn't really know what is going on....Should I perhaps contact my senator or perhaps some congressman from another state that might perhaps have someone a but more informed? I am grateful that this person is trying to help, but it sounds basically like what the USCIS hotline would tell me.
