I've heard most people get their EAD fairly quickly.....is this true?

Hard to say. Some get it after only one month, some - like me - might never ever get it. I got my Greencard before the EAD. I don't think anybody can answer you this question since every case is unique.

Ok. this a really stupid question, but when you say "EAD touched" what do you mean by "touched"?
I went through my biometrics appt for my EAD and AOS on Sept 21st and I want to know where the USCIS is with approval status. So I was wondering what you mean by "touched".

"Touched" means that USCIS was working on your application ...

The only way to know if you have been touched is to log into your USCIS account (found at this site https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp ) and if your "Last Updated" date has changed then that means you had a "touch" ...

It took Claudeth's about 2 1/2 months from when we mailed in the application until she received the card in the mail. Good luck
