I have recently become a US citizen. I have filed a petiton for my husband when i was still a lawful permanent resident on june 2003 and was been approved. My question is will i be qualified to file this K-3 visa? If not what will be the best thing to do so i could speed up the waiting process? Help please....thanks!

Yes you can file for a K-3... by my understanding. You have to send USCIS a copy of your Naturalization Certificate along with a simple form--UPDATE TO I-130. You may want to call USCIS or ask an Immigration Atty--a consultation shouldn't cost so much--I paid $75 .

Good Luck.

Yes, you need to contact the National Visa Center/NVC to inform them of your new status so they can move you to the front of the line. Didn't they give you any info at your oath ceremony?
I believe if you look around at uscis.gov you'll find the instructions. If I come across them again, I will post too.

And, if you'd like to add on the I-129f for a K-3, you can just complete that as normal.

Mary's experience of getting a lawyer to help with this one time chore sounds like a good deal. smile.gif
