I LIVE IN LOUISIANA AND NEED AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I DONT HAVE $2500 TO PAY IN ONE PAYMENT FOR THE ALWYER SO I FOUND THIS OTHER LAW FRIM THAT LETS YOU PAY MONTHLYHAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF OR USED ICS??

I am confused. You have posted this in the citizenship discussion thread...are you applying for a family based immigrant visa?? or have you already??

Well since your already married, I would recommend reading the K3 and the cr-1 forums here on VJ. If your case is fairly straight forward, you most likely do not require a lawyer. They do not really speed things up, and dont' do anythign special. You still have to rather al lthe necessary information/paperwork such as Birth cert, divorce cert (if required) etc etc. All they pretty much do is enter all the information that you have gathered and fill out the forms!!! If your case is straight forward, take time to read the stickies at the top of the K3 and cr-1 forum and save yourself a boat load of $$$. We used a lawyer and wish we had found VJ prior to starting the process. Not saying there are not cases when you should use a lawyer,but take some time and so some reading on VJ first before you do hire one. One can ask all the questions you want for free here. Just keep in mind all respnses are based on experiences, and can't always be taken as fact. Best of luck

I've never heard of, nor used ICS. You'll find that most people on this site have used the resources available here, and not hired a lawyer- that is, however, a completely personal desicion.
