This is a "continuation" of the discussions found in this thread:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35505So what's the latest?
I saw December interviews for August/September Packet 3 returns? Am I correct?
Let's post all progress from calls, emails, etc. in one place!

Count me in the waiting room. I returned package 3 last week and have been told a couple times that it'd probably be November/December. I've got my fingers crossed! I think having one main thread is a great idea, much easier.

Yes count me in too. It is a good idea to have a thread for this so we will just keeping checking this one for the great news we are all going to recieve this week right
Best of luck to us all. I would love November, but I too am happy with December to. Just with driving I would prefer the earlier the better.

Hey there, count me in too. Since I'm the fifth to post, are does that mean all you people are ahead of us with the consulate too?

I was looking at the consulate's website and saw they had a link to make an appointment online. Does anyone know if it's for our visa's or other ones?
Cass, when my fiancee called last week they said December interviews for July/August. I'm calling on Thursday, if I'm able, and she's calling Friday(if I don't hear anything).

Can I hang out in the waiting room even though I haven't got my packet 3? It just makes me feel like I'm doing something
We need to get some good magazines in here.

Haha, of course you can.
I haven't even gotten my NOA2 and I started the thread!

I just would like to get a good indication of where Montreal stands.
I still can't get over the fact that, for a lot of us, the consulate part is actually going to be LONGER than the USCIS part. You don't hear that very often!

Just called Mtl. to make sure they received my packet 3 checklist back (which they did). Of course, I asked them for an estimate for an interview date ... they said in the New Year - January.
Think that it's healthy for me to keep ignoring this information and still hope for a November interview? Aaarrggghh! Who knew that this part would be more irritating than the initail approval???

Okay - we are in - also waiting. This is a great idea, we have been checking many cases here trying to get an idea of how long. We also are in the process of trying to have our K3 transferred to Vancouver for faster processing. We are not sure what will come of that but you can check it out here:

I can't believe they told you that! I just received an email response from them this morning(I swear I'm not neurotic, I'm just concerned I won't get AP for a trip scheduled next spring if Montreal doesn't hurry up!) and they said they were "certain" I'd have an interview before the new year. My packet was received just a few days before yours, I wish they'd give us a straight answer!

Just to give you all an idea of what the timeline for interviews are: I sent my Pkg 3 back in the middle of August and I have an interview for November 22.
So if this is the 'guideline' of how long it takes Montreal, it could be 3-4 months from the time you send back pkg 3, which is roughly the timeline that is given for Montreal.
I know waiting is horrible, but I know I learned to just take it all in stride and not to fret, that I would get my interview date, and I will be with the one I love.
I truly hope that you all get a speedy date though

Looking back over this past year, I can't believe I thought the whole K3 process would take 4 to 6 months. What was I smoking?
If the interview doesn't come until January, it will be 10 months. That's 10 months of anxiety, beer, IMBRA, grey hairs, taking a job I hate so I can be a sponsor, and did I mention being celibate for the first year of marriage?!
I've tried to keep a lid on my emotions, light my candles, and say my prayers. But WTF? I'm about ready to snap. And you know what that means. Pass the chocolate cake. Yeah, the whole damn thing.

Eventhough you are all really nice people

and we have been learning a lot from each case - we are tired of waiting so we DID IT!!!!! We sent in our request to Montreal and asked that our K3 be transferred to Vancouver with all our Packet 3 info which we have completed already. Will keep you posted on what happens next. Say a prayer for us.

NVC sets the schedules for cr-1, so they might tel you if you call them. Some operators at NVC will give that info out, some wont. I found out by calling them.

Hey folks, just got off the phone with Montreal. The woman told me something completely different than my fiancee or I heard before, which is also different than what all of you have heard. The lady said they are booking for December, and that people from MAy are still waiting, like the girl who the woman spoke with just before me. She suggested not going along with any plans until we have the interview/visa, blah, blah blah. I even asked about my fiancee and I hearing different things(and bilssgirl...congrats again) but she repeated what she said about booking people from May. I guess I'll have a snack while I wait.
In other news, I have peace about things, so that's good.

Hey gang. My fiancee just called the consulate. Still no interview and the guy she spoke with didn't know where they at, as afar as processing goes. She then asked if she could request a date. The guy said she can, but he can't promise anything. She's requested a date for the week I'll be visiting, which is the week of Dec 10. She asked before about requesting a date and the lady said rather rudely, "You accomodate us, we don't accomodate you!" So that's that. Anyone else call?
ps. We've also decided to postpon wedding plans until March. We'd like to have been married yestreday but the dissapointment of canceling every month isn't fun.

There seems to be one really rude lady there, and then some really nice helpful people. The really rude lady told me last week that a computer does all the scheduling and that they can't do anything about interview dates. However, I've been in contact with them over the past few days and have been told that they are making exceptions/accomodations for those of us whose petitions were held up because of IMBRA. My case is being reviewed and possibly having an interview scheduled. I think however that you have to ask, possibly several times, as it wasn't until yesterday that someone said they were doing this for IMBRA cases and that they would pass my case along. She said she couldn't promise anything, so I emailed today to ask if a decision had been made and received this response:
Please allow the caseworker to review the schedule and book your appointment. We have public during the morning and I cannot tell you when she will schedule your appointment. We are aware that you and many others have experienced this IMBRA delay and you will be scheduled soonest. An appointment letter will be mailed to you as soon as it is booked.I'm not sure if anything will actually come of this, I'm trying not to get my hopes up. If anyone else is in the IMBRA boat I suggest calling, perhaps a couple of times if needed.

Our IR-1 case was completed at the NVC as of September 14th (according to the recording, anyway).
My hubby just checked the mail yesterday and we have our interview date in Montreal on November 22nd.
It's been a weird ride. I entered on my K3 visa back in October 2004, after having to wait almost a year for them to process the K3 because of the backlog at MSC. The I-130 was approved shortly thereafter and we opted to let it go through NVC/Montreal instead of doing AOS, since I'd be coming back to Canada to visit family anyway. That was the big mistake
We weren't sure if we were going to stay in the US or try to immigrate him to Canada, so we just didn't bother sending the fees to the NVC for a while. Eventually we decided to go ahead with it. Then, the fun started of the NVC not sending the next batch of paperwork, losing the stuff that we had sent in, and waiting forever for my criminal record check from Canada.
This all resulted in the case being completed at the NVC, but still no interview date, so when my K3 expired on October 4th, I came back to Canada to wait out the interview. We figured that'd be better than staying in the US illegally

It's weird being apart for the first time since I moved down there, though.
I hadn't bothered changing the address, though, so he got the packet from Montreal with instructions and interview date yesterday. Somehow I need to get the medical forms from him (or find them online), and do the medical, but that's a piece of cake compared to the past few months....

You don't need any medical forms that I'm aware of, just go to one of the panel physicians and get your exam done.

Yeah, I went to Seiden in Toronto the first time. It was an... interesting... experience. I think I'm going to go somewhere else this time
They wanted the letter last time. So, seeing as I don't even have the letter, I need to at least get that from him. He's going to bring everything when he comes up here for the interview, but that's not going to do me much good in the meantime.

My fiancee just called Montreal. She got the mean lady. Before she even asked anything, the woman asked for her ID number and said she was on the waiting list and that there's no date yet. She then said she had another question but the woman didn't seem to be in the best of moods, so she never asked.
Since the lady noticed that Ash called last week, we were wondering if they kept track of phone calls and if more phone calls = black-listing. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks

I don't know, I've wondered this myself. When I spoke with someone last week they made mention of checking my file "notes", so I suppose they can keep track of these things and make notes about it.
