Hello everybody,

In the instruction letter the consulate sends in the packet 3 for K3 members there is:

"Marriage certificates : married persons are required to present a certified copy of their marriage certificate."

In the bottom of the page they add : All documents not in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.

I need your clarification and/or your experience plz : the sentence "a certified copy of their marriage certificate" means a certified copy of the translated one? OR certified copy of the original one? (our case is Arabic) I'm confused wacko.gif

I hope that I well expressed my question

Shukran in advance

my thought, Najia, is that the original is certified, the translation is done by a "certified" translator. Have *both* available for your interview. good luck!

that is exactly what we gave the embassy during our interview... a certified original and the certified translated copy. the translator certified it, so there is no extra step we needed to do. they accepted it just fine. good luck smile.gif

The Moroccan marriage deed has a certification on it. For the English translation, you can have the translator type on their letter head a simple declaration such as this:

Letter head

CERTIFICATION (Centered)

I, (their name) certify that I am a sworn translator in the English and Arabic languages, and that the attached document is an accurate translation of the document "Marriage Deed" between Mr. (his name) and Mrs. (your name).

Date:

Signature:
Translator's printed name

Translator's signature and stamp

I got this format from the California Service Center, and it worked fine.

hi najia
a certified copy of their marriage certificate means the one in arabic, and they didn't even ask me about it in the interview , the officer didn't ask about it, actually i had it certified from the ministre of foreign affairs and from the wilaya of agadir . they don't ask about this in casablanca but i just did it incase they want to find out it wasn't a fraude document.

i wish you goodluck in your interview and i'm here for any help
