How can we know if a case number was assign? Is it through email or snail mail? I got approved last Sept. 26, NOA2 mailed to us already but until this day we didn't received any case number yet from NVC.

Have a read of the NVC Timesavers thread . You will find instructions on finding out your case number in the first post under the heading 'NVC Automated Voice Response Service' It can take a couple of weeks to be put into the system so just keep calling.

I got our NVC case number by emailing NVC.

Email NVC at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov reference your USCIS case number in the email header, and names of petitioner, and beneficiary as well as DOB of beneficiary. They will reply with status and if sent to the embassy, the new Case number.

The reply had the new NVC case number in the header.
